I wanted to cover this song because it has always been one of my favorite pieces from Boards of Canada and it was pretty simple. I programmed each synthesizer and did my own mixing and mastering. 

Kaini Industries - BOC Cover

Do you remember fall of 2012? It was my first year in college, and I spent a lot of time making music with a group of close friends. I feel like it was yesterday, and it's weird to think that it was two years ago that I watched Patrick paint this work on piano. We probably sat there for several hours going back and forth on different musical ideas. We would spend time together talking about life and how to change the world quite frequently, and then all of a sudden Patrick asked me to record him playing on my midi keyboard. This is what came of that night. 


The only roles I played in this work were providing moral support, editing the recorded midi track making sure major imperfections were addressed (while leaving timing and tuning issues untouched to add a natural feel), programming the synth and piano sounds, arranging the chunks of the song and the mixing and mastering of the track. This art is only one example of Pasty expressing himself, and I look forward to creating more with him.
