Hello everyone,
this is finally my first original tune "Elwood's Tune". I wrote the lyrics and the melody - for the first time.

Song background:
I wrote the song influenced by the movie "Harvey" from 1950, starring James Stewart. The main character Elwood is a warm and pleasant human being and is starting to have a friendly conversation with everyone he meets. Usually he even invites them for dinner to his home. Even though it's not the only thing the movie is about, I think that in today's day and age - 73 years later - we could use some of this care and friendliness towards others. Maybe even more than ever.

Elwood's Tune

Quoth me a figure for the mountain of beans, that I think I might need to be done.
How much can I need just to set myself free and to let myself breathe? Can't be wrong?
Buy me a pot for my river of dreams, to contain all my schemes, when I'm gone.

Where a strong melody catches on to the breeze, 
stays in their ears for the rest of their days.

You kids think you're clever rebellious things when you're smoking up, brewing up, reins.

It's the "others" refrain,  just so easy to deal with insane.

Let my sure melody, catch the rythym and breeze, echo for eternity, with no fade.

A pile of grey plastic to soothe any blisters that can not be seen on the soul.
A selfie, acquaintance, a work friend, repentance, a tenner, reluctance, the dole.
A shiny new TV that links to the world with a series of infinite taps.
A pricey new  never-up-ending appliance to really put you on the map.

Oh, show me the road, where the antelope cope, gyre and gimble, and play.
Let my melody sing as my spark glows within...

A bill paying, consuming, full-fledged member, an eagle eyed user of woods.
The good boys club isn't accepting new members, I think that you misunderstood.
A shiny gold cloak that masks up your existence will just fall away in the end.
A doctor, a seamstress, a lover, a mistress, a cleaner, a banker, a friend.
