Often finding myself searching for things to fill my time and take away my attention - that I may have something to be pleased and occupied with - I forget to devote that time to the author of my heart: the one who knows how to satisfy me. When I finally come to this beautiful conclusion, I reset to a place where I plead with myself to let go of the thing(s) that is, in fact, enslaving me. This is how I feel and what I ask myself to do. Please enjoy the tune, "IDOLS."

After going back and forth with a great friend (you know yourself!) - on a sermon they had heard - I was listening to that same sermon today (March 20, 2019.)I caught hold of some words that hit home hard in this time of my life. The preacher said, "Your next season's ability is dependent on the last season's responsibility." I interpreted that as "God leaves responsibility on us, each season of life, in hopes that when we are ready He returns with the next phase seeing that the past season prepared us for the prosperity (blessing) of the next." One thing I've been working on at home after a season of work has been getting into the mindset of work again but dwelling abundantly in laziness. I've been looking at it as a burden more than I have acknowledged it as a responsibility. But to let it go by, I see that when I pray for the things I wish to be responsible for, those prayers return denied because I did not steward what I had before. Why would God bless me with more when I did not work with the less? So Matty boy, let's go "Work". Twende Kazi!

I've been hyping this one up for time now. I'm excited for you to hear this piece. Much like Twende Kazi, I felt the need to make something that would give me energy and motivation for the year, but I was also looking to produce something that I could kick back to and chill vibing to.
