back in January we were contacted by Glasgow Underground about reworking something from Romanthony’s back catalogue. Growing up in northern England in the 90s and immersed in dance music it wasn’t uncommon to hear Romanthony tracks such as Ministry of Love, Hold On or The Wanderer (Journey Man Thump) pumping from shops, passing cars or bars. Even our parents would have heard his vocal work with Daft Punk on ‘One More Time’ and knowing the labels previous Romanthony reworks from the likes of Dixon, Andres, Rob Mello, Gerd and Deetron we were interested to get involved.
 
We chose to rework Trust and got to work over the next few months. Then in May, shortly after submitting our version to the label we heard the news that Romanthony had tragically passed away at the age of just 46 from complications related to kidney disease.
 
Whilst we didn’t know Romanthony a.k.a Anthony Moor personally, losing someone - even a distant peer can really make you think, especially at such a young age. Of course the remix suddenly seemed pretty irrelevant, and we pondered with the label over what to do about it. Now over 6 months later the time feels more right and we’re happy to announce our rework will be released on 9th December alongside versions from Motor City Drum Ensemble, Freeform Five and label boss Kevin McKay. In memory of Anthony we will be donating half our royalties from this record to Kidney Research UK. Hope you enjoy...

Flight destination is The Tarantula Nebula is a large star-forming region of ionized hydrogen gas that lies 161,000 light-years from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and its turbulent clouds of gas and dust appear to swirl between the region’s bright, newly formed stars. The nebula owes its name to the arrangement of its bright patches that somewhat resemble the legs of a tarantula. Taking the name of one of the biggest spiders on Earth is very fitting in view of the gigantic proportions of this celestial nebula — it measures nearly 1,000 light years across ! Its proximity, the favourable inclination of the LMC, and the absence of intervening dust make this nebula one of the best laboratories to better understand the formation of massive stars. This spectacular nebula is energised by an exceptionally high concentration of massive stars, often referred to as super star clusters.

As an artist led label 'Find Your Own Records’ has become a home for genuine house legends Mr G, Fred P, Alex Arnout, and has rightly gained support from Mixmag, Resident Advisor, BBC Radio 1, BB6Music and BBC1Xtra. Back to Basics is one of the longest running club events in the world, based in our home city of Leeds. The club has had a huge influence on us over the years, particularly in our early days when we could be found there on many a weekend immersing ourselves in their sounds. Our debut in 2007 is still one of our proudest moments as DJs. They’ve found a great new home at The Garage and it’s always an honour to play for them.
