Originaire de Cape Town, Esa est un des personnages que nous suivons avec intérêt depuis les débuts de l'aventure Mawimbi. Initiateur du projet Highlife aux côtés d' Auntie Flo, Esa a collaboré avec des musiciens de Cuba, du Kenya, d'Ouganda et d'Afrique du Sud. Il est désormais résident sur Worldwide FM et son prochain EP paraîtra bientôt sur le label hollandais Dekmantel.

Pour cette première participation à Radio Mawimbi, Esa nous a concocté un mix savoureux de disques chinés en France au cours des 3 dernières années. Plus particulièrement, ce mix révèle une love story naissante (istwa damou) avec les musiques des antilles françaises. Amateurs de zouk et de funk créole, ce mix est pour vous !
