Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.

TWINKIDS’ debut EP “Boys Love” comes out August 18th, with the EP title paying homage to the gay romance manga genre of the same name. Drawing influence from 80’s J-pop and artists like Imogen Heap and Bonobo, the EP’s five songs tell coming-of-age stories about falling in love.

Douze is Arnault Douze Esteve, a young French producer. First discovered by Kris Menace, he would later become the protégé of the German producer. Their collaboration led on to several tracks produced together on Kris's "Idiosyncrasies" first album followed by a handful of EPs. To this day, Kris and Douze continue to work together - with Douze appearing on Menace’s albums “Features” and forthcoming project “Sun, Moon & Stars” in collaboration with Simon Lord. Following this, Douze worked with another titan of the French house music scene, Alan Braxe, the results of which are still under lock and key in Braxe’s own production vault.
