I recall
living there when i was small
running through Jeffs paddock
all the way to kearons store
i'd climb the little hill
going up the eastern side
looking out on baldy hill
cement works on the other side
standing on the sky

and i would climb the mountainside
and stand upon his crown
and would stare into the distance
from the hills of Kandos town
the hills of Kandos town

i'd see the Wollemi
the sun would walk across the sky
i'd stare into the bye and bye
to the distant mountain range
on those summer days
in a coloured grey cement dust haze
in an orchard full of games i played
i'd stay until the suns last rays
time is standing still...

On Meeting The Wiradyuri


   Well i've seen a lot of changes living here in my hometown
   after several generations now i stand and look around
   and my heart it is breaking cause i just don't understand
   how we have broken and destroyed her, our motherland

   now the town is full of stangers and i am one as well
   as we all go through these changes now only time will tell
   yet my heart it is breaking cause i just don't understand
   why were making so much trouble for our fellow man

   The Wiradyuri will tell you, bout the stories they've been told
   from living closely with there mother while us kids were running wild
   now my heart it is aching as i hope to understand
   as i'm reaching for the comfort of my sisters hand

there are no factories in Eden
   there are no mills or stinking mines
   there are no fences built between us
   there are no roads or welfare lines
   there is no conflict needs resolving
   there are no leaders walking blind
   shouting out keep moving forward
   and leaving Eden far behind

   where the black man is my brother
   a family of all human kind
   where we know to help each other
   through the wisdom that we find
   nurtured by the earth our mother
   embraced within the hands of time
   i want to go back home to Eden
   and leave this crazy world behind

   he'd rather dig for gold instead
   was the devil made the shovel
   to break your back and bury your dead
   here they'll buy your time for money
   is how the devil takes your mind
