Mind On The Edge

A bombastic orchestral track to accompany Janete's chaotic morning routine. 

Written for a McDonald's commercial directed by Johnny Chang.

A song about petty regrets and how death makes them seem even pettier.

Lyrics:

If my thoughts could sound aloud, and bounce off the walls of the stairwell,
you would jolt, suddenly awake, to the call of your name.
If my dreams could walk about, back pedal themselves into life again,
they would drag me out from underneath and redirect my wasted grief.

My friend has shed a bag of bricks from his delicate soul but now they're on his name.
And every pair of feet on memory lane, back pedaling him into life again.

Now my thoughts will sound aloud and every piece of joy I suffocated will breathe.
Now my dreams will walk about, fill the streets, were they ever safe inside? 
'Cause there's no shame in an open wound. The only thing I ever succeeded in hiding from is myself.

They realized that they pricked a spindle and slumbered for for too long.

Could it be the nimble hands that first shook back when they were ten?
Without the mask of puppy love fit even better now than then.

Mad Lips as they kissed, waking old butterflies.
Old generations still gaze with teenage eyes.
This blessing was worth living through its disguise.
So smile for what disappointment lead you to find.
