this remix is crazy old but I just found it on my laptop and played it at a festival in NorCal and it had such an amazing reaction.

Depeche Mode’s Precious is a timeless record that captures the best of Depeche Mode’s sound and distinct electronic soundscapes. Dave Gahan creates an atmosphere and mood all on his own with his voice.  I wanted to create a remix that highlighted the amazing vocal part while creating a silky groove underneath.  I think the added acoustic guitar and bells add natural color to the mix and compliment the sincerity of the lyrics.

Another PHW release is in the pipeline, as we welcome back the very talented producer Biotones to our label roster. It is with great pleasure we see Victor come back to us, with his latest production called “Opera Of The Night” taking its spot on PHW. 

This production is as always a warm production, filled with sun-drenched vibes and a melodic flow that we definitely feel is one to dig deep inside many times. With a serenade of melodies, he once again delivers fresh material, and the added on vocal chops adds even more texture and emotional feels to the track. 

On remix duty we see a welcome return from our label resident, Canadian producer and also our radio show host for our monthly PHW & Friends Pure FM show, the one and only Andrew Lang. He delivers another fresh take as we so often see from him on the label. With his great ability to build up textures and great drive in his tracks, he once more delivers and showcase why he one of the most sought artists out there. This is as warm and energetic as it gets!

Next up is a welcome return from Australian based in fame rising producer Veeshy, a true member to the PHW family and one that we hope you will see a lot more of in the future through us. He delivers “Opera Of The Night” in true “Veeshy style” and it feels great to see him back with us, for this rework of this original from Biotones. Warm and emotional as always!

Last out is another welcome return on the label, as Mike Hennessy makes a return to our home with a more deep and stripped down re-take. It goes in the typical Mike Hennessy style, with a lot of warm bass lines working the track, added on vocal elements and some superb piano play that we so often see from him. 

We do hope you will enjoy another PHW release from some of our closest buddies to the label!

Gryffin  Flight Log 001 - End Of Summer Mix

With pumping house beats and signature vocals, Daft Punk's Discovery is a classic electronic album. I've always been a fan of the track High Life on the album and thought about trying to create a new mix for DJ sets. Lately I have been jamming some Empire of the Sun and love the vibe they create with their vocals. These tracks came together when I was working on some mashup possibilities. It's a bit different than the progressive house style I normally play in my sets, as it's more house, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I wanted to share it, as it's a fun jam and it's ready to rock in DJ sets. Dylan was around while I made a lot of stuff for my last album. Around the time of Gloom and No Way Back Up, I was trying all kinds of kick patterns just because it was exciting and new. So, one day he came with this sick kick pattern that to this day I still can’t follow, and a nice complimentary bass line along with it. It was so interesting that we thought to make a full song of it. We ended up calling it 'Patterns', because of the sweet midi patterns. It's a nice moment where you can get lost in fun syncopation. Hope you enjoy.

The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (Matt Crofford Remix)

When I first heard this beautiful song I knew I had to attempt a remix.I was unable to obtain the full acapella - so I worked with what I could sample and jammed on guitar until I found a guitar part that fit the mood of the record.I wanted to create a remix with a mellow mood that prominently featured the hypnotizing original melody and feel. The original record features a very refreshing and emotional sound and I hope this remix provides another additional way to experience it.

Travel back to 1981 with the smooth, unforgettable beats of Hall & Oates and combine them with some dubby Foster the People vocals and you get this jam mix "Go For that Broken Jaw." I had always wanted to remix or sample "I Cant Go for That" by Hall & Oates and when I started working on a remix, I had been listening to a ton of Foster the People and really enjoyed the vocal vibes from their song "Broken Jaw." This mix blends both songs to craft a nice smooth groover to enjoy this summer from the headphones to out on the dancefloor. I definitely was groovin while working on this mix and hope you enjoy it as well! Let me know what you think!
