Matteo Gatti returns to Neverdogs’ Bamboleo Records with ‘Planet Earth’

Rimini native Matteo Gatti returns to Neverdogs’ Bamboleo Records with a head-turning three-track EP – Planet Earth.

A mainstay within the Italian House and Techno scene for over a decade, Rimini-based DJ and producer Matteo Gatti has played across Italy’s most illustrious venues, including Cocorico Buongiorno Classic and Tenax. Having dropped material via Dennis Cruz and Eddy M’s MUSE and Riva Starr’s Snatch!, he closes 2022 with another stellar offering on Neverdogs’ Bamboleo Records imprint with ‘Planet Earth’.

The title track ‘Planet Earth’ is filled with chunky drum grooves, funky synths, swinging sub-bass and swirling vocal chops to provide a heavyset opener, blending bright textures with underground flavours from the outset.

‘Love Plane’ follows with more rich analogue frequencies and bumpy beats, emphasising a core of resonant melodic factors and playful modulation. Another delightfully subterranean cut with a quirky twist, providing a standout option for any tracklist.

‘Serpentine’ rounds off the release with more signature sonics from Gatti, ramping up the tempo with chugging rhythms and melancholic harmonies aplenty. A pacy late-night cut with a hard and fast flow and quirky traits throughout, completing a trademark return to the brand from one of its beloved residents.

Off Week in Barcelona is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, with all of the big DJ’s and labels in town throwing mid summer fiesta’s and celebrating the music and culture that we love so dearly. In the hearts, minds and souls of house and techno fans, there is one place that represents our culture above all else. The Balearic island of Ibiza; it is the spiritual home of rave and party hedonism and is a special place for the Deeperfect family as well. To celebrate the 2017 season we asked our good friends Neverdogs to compile and curate a selection of music that epitomises the Ibiza party season and captures the vibe of the white island.
Our Florentian brothers, Neverdogs, are no strangers to the label and have contributed a stack of banging tech house cuts to our discography over the past few years. With a heavy tour schedule and releases on top labels like Moan, Roush, Materialism and many more, we knew that there were no safer hands to trust with this special mix.
The Italian duo have compiled a musical journey that could be taken directly from the dancefloor of Ibiza’s top clubs. The duo have crafted a number of original tracks to be included, as well as contributing collaborative material with Manu Gonzalez and Sebastian Ledher respectively. Additionally they have tirelessly sourced music from a wide range of artists to round out the 19 tracks including exclusive material from Drastic Duo, Emery Waman and Guymac, Matteo Gatti, Paul C and Vincenzo D'Amico and many more.

Next up on NoExcuse Limited are Matteo Gatti & Fortyseven, with their 'Egyptian Party' single. The duo have had respective releases on some big labels in the past 6-12 months and have now provided us with a substantial track which we are delighted to release on our Limited imprint.

'Egyptian Party' is a chugging Tech House steam train, built out of monstrous drums, a pulsing low-end bass and subtle melodic elements. Add to that the sampling of an iconic vocal, creative use of FX, along with a really potent mix and you have yourself a well oiled machine. 

For the more creative performers, the long format of the track allows plenty of space to play with and provides ample opportunity to create something special for your sets.

The second Bamboleo release  is with Sebastian Ledher and Matteo Gatti providing two tracks each.

Ledher goes first with 'My House', an acid laced jam with warm analogue bass. It's the sort of fluid track that worms its way through the floor, with punchy drum programming and dark vocals adding energy to the groove and helping make a big impact. On a different vibe entirely is the slick minimal house of 'Brick Lane', which has tender piano chords over rubbery beats. It's one for the back rooms and the Berlin heads and oozes soul. 

Gatti then steps up with the brilliance of 'Bamboleo Mood,' a chunky bit of machine house funk. Crunchy hits offset a warped synth line and sci-fi motifs colour in the airwaves to fantastic effect. Last of all, the excellent 'Like Mento' is a perfectly programmed bit of electronic music with fluttering drums and hits, freaky hooks and urgent bass that carry you late into the after party.
