We welcome Controlwerk & Matter to Bonzai Progressive with the debut two tracker titled, Aurora EP. Controlwerk is a UK based, Polish producer who creates his sound based on his mood of a particular moment. Drawing inspiration from greats such as Digweed and Deadmau5, he found his own unique style which has garnered huge support from top jocks around the world. Australian artist Matter, comes from humble beginnings, DJing at clubs in Melbourne and London before he found himself sculpting his own sounds in his studio. With a raft of releases on several labels, he also enjoys great support from around the world. Great to have both guys on board.

Aurora is up first, taking us on a dreamy, wistful ride through the softer side of progressive house. Delicate melodies and mesmerizing pads are shored up by a dominant bass drone and rhythmically charged percussions, which make for a lush construction. Onyx follows, taking a more direct route the deeper side with contrasting sounds combining beautifully. A tight arrangement full of eerie FX, metallic synths and surging basses, this one will not disappoint.

I recorded this in 2017 and 2018 using only a Teenage Engineering OP-1 and its internal tape recorder and never shared it. I recorded mainly during travel and channeled a rough year into it. Looking back it isn't very good but considering the workflow of the OP-1... well here it is, for posterity.
