Released in March 2021, Simos Tagias and his "Euphoria / Emotion" created a sublime musical moment, frozen in time. A year later and Meanwhile returns to the EP with a pair of remixes from Paul Deep and label owners, GMJ and Matter.

Plying his trade from an early age as a DJ across the Buenos Aries province, Paul Deep has an innate understanding of the music that moves club-goers. Able to translate this knowledge into the production arena, the Argentinean has had a stream of successful releases on the underground electronic industry's finest imprints. From Tale and Tone and Juicebox Music to The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music, Paul Deep has continued to see his music supported by the DJ elite. Releasing the "Deeper Dye" EP on Meanwhile in June 2021, Paul produced a quartet of tracks that showcased his skill and craftsmanship, followed by an appearance of "Excursions, Vol. 1" two months later with "Milo".

A debut remix of Roger Martinez in late 2020 is now followed by a typically chunky rhythmic foundation that rolls effortlessly across his interpretation of "Euphoria". Underneath a tight percussive groove, strains of Tagias' central motif can be heard that flow over a subterranean bassline. Building with consummate ease, new melodies and additional production from the Paul Deep production portfolio emerge, making their presence felt at the breakdown. Making intelligent use of the remix components, a dark and seething dancefloor destroyer explodes into life in the second half to powerful effect.

GMJ and Matter need little introduction to the Meanwhile literati. A DJ and production pair at the height of their respective powers, the curation and development of their Meanwhile name has been impeccable. Peppering the release schedule with sparkling original productions and 24-carat remixes, the duo's "Lost on Origin" and "The Path / Perfect Storm" EPs have been notable highlights in the Meanwhile catalogue.

Returning for their second remix after an appearance alongside Paul Deep reworking "80s" from Roger Martinez's "Cosmic" EP, the GMJ and Matter remix of "Emotion" burns brightly with dancefloor energy. Creating a new cadence from Tagias' central melodic progression, shimmering synths ripple out in overlapping waves while pulsating pads drive their interpretation forward with elemental force. New motifs, infused with white-noise, fizz and sparkle as they cascade across the beatless breakdown, held in check by a rolling percussion. Dropping back into a sumptuous bassline synergy in the third movement, haunting vocals and immaculately programmed synth phrasing creates a remix of rare and quality and memorable production euphoria.

Through uplifting remixes from Paul Deep and GMJ and Matter, Simos Tagias has created a new state of ecstasy with his "Euphoria" EP.

Herinneringen –  the story behind this track is being found in existence of the sweet spacey pad, it got me thinking back on the memories I had with Hernan on his annual Woodstock’69 parties in Bloemendaal aan Zee. So during the Covidius era it got me thinking back about the moments.. these missing times. Such a beautiful location here in Holland.

As the sun sets on one chapter, a new day dawns for Imran Khan! Carrying the momentum of his label debut in August, the Londoner returns with his most extensive offering yet. 'Sunsweat' includes three original tracks and two more high profile remixes. Like previous contributors, MUUI and LADS comprise an equally influential pairing.

Originally, debuting on Particles in October 2017, a remix of LADS saw Imran Khan open his Proton Music account a year later while the 'Organik' EP in August 2019 saw a spellbinding original track combine with remixes from Barry Jamieson and Silinder. Part of a triptych of original tracks, 'Sunsweat' is characterised by a strong rhythmic groove and rich bassline. Building effortlessly, smooth pads and steam-powered effects add texture and depth, while a muted arpeggio meanders into a beatless breakdown to combine with an emotive lead. Rhythm and bass combine once more in the third movement as all elements create a glorious whole. 

Patrick Carrera has long been a leading figure in the underground dance scene. Under his MUUI moniker, the Australian born artist has been a regular across a host of flagship imprints that include microCastle, Sudbeat and Crossfrontier Audio. Moreover, his Here Now imprint has witnessed over a century of solo production credits including October 2019's 'The Human Use of Human Beings'. Making his Proton Music debut remixing Kobana in late 2014, MUUI now returns with a shimmering remix of 'Sunsweat'. Full of the melodic atmospheric poise of the original, MUUI's immaculate production techniques have added layers of texture and depth. Additional melodic flourishes add intrigue while white-noise effects swim enticingly across the soundstage. A chunky rhythmic groove sits perfectly against the melodic elements adding dancefloor prowess to a majestic offering that sees MUUI at the peak of his powers.

For his first EP of 2020, Brian Cid returns to his Endangered imprint with Be One; 4 powerful tracks flowing seamlessly between melodic techno & progressive house.

Last year saw Brian Cid continue the development of his Endangered label with the release of his Light In The Lotus EP, the signing of upcoming talent from all over the world, the launch of a new VA series, and label-branded events held everywhere from Brooklyn & Miami, to Canada, India, and The Dominican Republic.  After a recent EP on Audiofly’s Supernature label, and a remix on Fur Coat’s Odd:ity, Brian is back on his own creative outlet with Be One. 

“Monocerotis” is the first track on the release, and starts it off with a brooding techno vibe.  Multiple listens are required to decipher the brilliant layering of sounds weaving in & out, leading to a tension-building breakdown, and supported with a foundation of subtle tribal drums.  The journey continues on more of a progressive tip with the second track, “Cometas Y Cometas”.  As with all of Brian’s releases, a story is being told, and in this chapter the listener is made to feel like they’re floating to the next destination with the dreamy vibe created here.

Following is the title track “Be One”, which is the origin of the concept behind the project.  Brian explains: “After experiencing a deep travel in my worlds within, I became One. One with my energy & sounds. Vibrations. On this journey, we are taking a ride where the atmosphere opens up as broken sky, and the rhythms of the land breathe deep in your body. A healing shower of sounds with a live, analogue and digital feel; a sea of possibilities”. “Fill The Void” is the finale, and this story ends with a banger.  Driving melodic techno, combined with synth work bouncing back & forth; this is Brian Cid at his deepest & darkest.
