Following up from the huge success of Crystals early in 2014, Los Angeles beatsmith AWE returns to Terrorhythm in the shape of his latest work, Griffin.

Never one to sit comfortably in the constraints of labels or genres, AWE's Griffin delivers a venomous punch of heavy hitting beats and bass at a time where the music industry is awash with middle of the road and often forgettable tracks. As can be expected now of the increasingly prolific young producer, the boundaries have been pushed for a third consecutive release on Terrorhythm.

Not satisfied with settling for a single track release, Griffin is paired up with Triassic, a track much sought after ever since it was aired as the intro track on AWE's guest mix on Skream's BBC Radio 1 show. Fans of AWE's Terrorhythm debut "Eagle Soul E.P." will appreciate the nod to Jurassic on this one.

Early support from the likes of Plastician, Djemba Djemba and Mr Carmack have seen these track enjoy some heavy rotation through the summer festival season.This one is due for release on the 2nd December on all good digital outlets via Terrorhythm.

No trading for a like or a follow, nothing. Just a thank you to all of you out there supporting my music. Thank you!

I don't do covers very often, but this song has always hit me in a special way. It takes me away, and puts me in a different place. For the last couple of years I haven't sang on any of my recorded songs, but this cover felt special and I wanted my voice on it because of what it means to me. I was a bit nervous to live up to all of the amazing vocalists that I've worked with, but yes, that's me singing!

I hope when you guys hear this it can do for you what the original always did for me. Hopefully it can transport you somewhere a bit sunnier, with someone you wish you could be with.

This is Bonga’s thirtieth album - his fifth on the Lusafrica label - featuring eleven faultless new songs reporting on the state of his native Angola where he is again living after a very long absence. Bonga is a sincere man with broad shoulders. 

In this song we learn  that Bonga has founded the “Bean International”, focused on the legumes that unify the Portuguese-speaking world: the black beans used in Brazil’s feijoada; makunde, the source of Angolan flour; the white beans that fill Cape Verdean catchupa; Portuguese cured beans; and so on. Betinho Feijo performs on guitar, Juvenio Cabral bass and Malauia percussion, while Bonga sings and plays the dikanza, a very long reco-reco rubbed with a stick. Flavoured with accordion and guitar, the sound is joyous as a Midsummer festival, sad as the lament of a South American exile - and uncompromising too.

Ismael Kouyate came to my attention when seeing the band "Mandingo Ambassadors" back in 2008. We got into the studio quickly after & he floated like a butterfly over this instrumental in his native Mandingo flow. A year later I'm sitting with friends watching the new musical by Fela & I see this amazing dancer singing something familiar... Ismael singing N'Dini! Beautifully!! More collaborations on the way... stay tuned!
