The difficulty with language is that it can be hard to articulate, decipher and change. What is said cannot be erased and taken back, it stands firm in the passage of time for a life to come. This is why such holy books have paved the way across the ages, they cannot be taken back. Nowadays it is all about a turn of phrase, depicting what may come next and rephrasing that which was mistaken. Perhaps in the future we will learn better, and take our time. 

Teniente Castillo is set to release a new EP on Playpal Music. Operating out of Madrid he creates tripped out electronic music rife with drive and bass. He is remixed by Undo.

Sinchi & Friends 83 comes from Vienna based duo @HanzoandYaman. Featuring two upcoming tracks of their own and a number of unreleased tunes coming from some of their favourite producers around the world. It's a clubby kind of mixtape that you will get you dancing day or night. They told us the inspiration came from their Auntie from another County “Titaporn”, their Dj Gigs and the creative crowd that surrounds them. Plus you can get to know a bit more about them from their interview below.

ABOUT

1) Introduce yourself?

We are Hanzo & Yaman we are based in Vienna and Istanbul. Last year we released our first EP called 'Sirisins' and founded our own label Belly Dance Services for this. Besides that we released an EP on Tom Tom Disco this year, which was a great experience because we love Richard Rossa and his music. Hanzo also has had two vinyl releases on the small Viennese label fortunea records.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

Seeing People dance and celebrate to our productions. Moreover meeting other fellow producers from highly interesting labels, kicking off promising projects and digging deeper into the fantastic world of music.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

We are going to release an EP on Playground Records and on our own imprint Belly Dance Services. Also we have some remixes that will come out soon. And of course always working on new and old tracks. For next year we are planning to have more shows in different countries.

‘Take #3’, the opener stems from the one of a kind UK producer Matt Karmil. Excellent production that has Matt’s amazing signature raw quality sound in every corner. The track fits in every party at any hour and warms your body and soul. We welcome Matt’s debut on Sisters & Brothers. 

Modular Project strikes again after their last fantastic EP on Sisters & Brothers. ‘Bottom’ is a floating dreamy cosmic track that travels to the moon and back. It’s a funky techno track with a real bass line, emotional synths and a distorted vocoder that bring the listeners on a trippy 80’s journey. A true analog product from Italy.

‘Austrian Hairlines’ is by Sexy Lazer & Kaktus Einarsson. It comes with a thrilling intro that turns into broken beats, acid and quirky melodies. Born 33.000 feet up in the air and brought down to earth to be raised up. Grew and grew and became this sharp and tense but yet playful electric character. Robotic and sharp as the sharpest Austrian hairlines. 

Technobeton & Friedtower presents ‘Tal im Berg’. This greatly structured and disturbed track made in Stuttgart is in your face. ‘Tal im Berg’ is about not doing it right. “We had a lot of instruments, progressions and effects in the arrangement (which is the ‘Berg’ (mountain) - it sounded right. So then we killed two drum tracks, several melodies, we discovered the TAL bassline, and what then happened became Tal im Berg. When we play it loud, people maybe feel the presence of empty soundspaces and fill them automatically with ecstatic shouts and dance moves.”

Far up in the north the Icelandic techno duo Bypass wrote a composition named Blómavasi (flower vase) years back as teenagers. Not knowing what they had made the demo got lost. By request of a friend they revisited the demo and decided to bring it to life. Imagine what Bypass can do if this acid bomb is the demo that got lost... Sounding great like the cold north. 

‘I Belong’ by Andi is also coming from Iceland and closes the package with a very elegant and well made electronica track that leaves you longing for more. A true talent to watch out for! ”In the track the classic mantra “I belong to you” is repeated several times over throughout the song, treated as if it were a sample from another source than my own voice, although heavily processed. This is basically just me talking to myself, for the purpose of belonging more fully to others. The track sprang from a feeling of loneliness causing me to expand unnecessary boundaries of belonging.” This is Andi’s second appearing on S&B.

Next up on Nightcolours is La Mano, the alias of UK based producer Carlo Bragagnini. With previous releases on the likes of Secret Factory & Through Gods Own Eyes, he's also caught the attention of Bicep and recorded a mix for their podcast series. With a sound forged on melody and emotion with influence from Italo-Disco right through to Progressive, his productions have been supported by DJs such as Ame, Man Power, Jennifer Cardini, Henry Saiz and many more. Solo Dancer is a melodic progressive gem, swirling arps, lush textured pads and nagging riffs piledrive the track forward to its delicious climax. Taking on remix duties is Dark Disco maestro Man2.0 who delivers a thumping, throbbing beast of a rework modelled around ever ascending melodies and snapping, snarling snare drums. UK talent Dan Wainwright drops ‘Rituals’, a three track offering of mutant disco sounds on Night Noise Music backed with a remix from Joe Morris, this June. With a catalogue that takes in edits for To Rack and Ruin and Creative Use as well as singles for the likes of Hungarian HotWax and Through God’s Own Eyes, Wainwright is steadily becoming a must-check for those who enjoy lower tempo nightclub sounds of a discoid nature and this EP, already given ALFOS approval by Sean Johnston, shows why.

Opening with the anthemic ‘Raindance’, a growling groover characterised with bright, evolving synth hooks and tight delays which culminates in balearic guitar bliss, Joe Morris’ Dubwise remix of ‘Rain Dance’ closes out the package in, as the title suggests, nifty dubbed out style.

Big boss Macaulay teams up with MIJO to bring us four bangers made in 2016 and never released before.

"Amigos Por Siempre" and "Amigos Por Siempre (Acido Mix)" are two tracks for going hard from the beginning. Nasty bass lines and fast repetitive bleepy sounds.

Victor Valpuesta is a DJ, musician and passionate music professional based in Mexico City since 2016.

His music project Valpy is powered by psychedelic beats, rippling synths, wonderful vibes from the retro future, and funky atmospheres that won't let you stop dancing.
