This performance of Mission Creep is from my opening slot at the SUB/Mission art space in San Francisco's Mission district, the night of 16 August 2013. 

La Fin Absolute du Monde headlined (fresh off of a world tour), with Nerd Revolt and Wave Well also on the bill.

Mission Creep is perhaps my favorite song to play live as of late.

Mission Creep w/ Intro

I improvised this piece with my 'small board' (vs my 'large board' that I use with Disonova; the large board has fuzz, the small board has a compressor) of two minimalist loopers, and a modified Strat.

Recorded in my living room in the Mission, the 2nd of January 2014, captured by my Zoom stereo-mic recorder.

This is a short and sweet melody, live reverse effect supplied from a first-generation Boomerang looper, run through my tiny Gorilla amp.

In early 2015, May Oskan and myself (as Storm Door) used this piece as soundtrack music for an SF Theater Pub production – all other music we used was improvised or our own, this was the sole cover. 

Lately I've been bringing this back as a solo piece.

Elegy

Originally written in 1999 or 2000, living in PA, Loft is perhaps my oldest standard*. Back then I'd recorded a couple versions on 4-track, playing the chord progression as a base track and then overdubbing subsequent tracks of eBow.

Flash forward to October 2009, shortly after moving into my Tenderloin studio on O'Farrell: I recorded another version, this time straight into my simplistic 2-channel break-out box--essentially 2-track. However this time I looped the rhythm on my (at the time) sole DD-7 and used my PDS-8000 for the asynchronous, chimey loops. 

And I used my eBow. Maybe I should use the eBow again, I've used it only a couple times these last few years.

Regardless this recording predates my present live-parallel-looping setup, however the spirit is the same.

*to clarify a 'standard' of mine is a song that is *not* entirely improvised

Loft ('09)

Destined to Wander Forever in the Great Dark Between the Stars* was originally recorded by me in my Tenderloin studio apartment in the fall of 2009, and was loosely adapted by Chris Taylor and myself (aka Disonova) in the fall of 2010. A few versions of the song have stemmed-off over the last couple years, each usually transitioning from math-y ambiance to thundering triplet drum solo.

This is my solo version of the original piece (which happens to loosely be the structure of the current Disonova arrangement) and is about as faithful a 'cover' I can execute without Chris.
