Brooklyn quartet Body Language make a slinky brand of groovy, often moody dance pop with infectious rhythms. They’re set to drop their latest full-length effort, Mythos, later this fall. An early taste of the album comes in “Addicted.” The four-piece showcases their uncanny ability to dance you through deceptively piercing, emotional evocations. Bubbling synth layers, and subtle intricate percussion drive the track as gauzy, penetrating harmonies float above. The song is perfect for feel-good night where flirting can be difficult to discern as love or lust. Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns this August with it’s sixth outing. Boasting five label debutants in Xinobi, Yunus Güvenen, Ole Beige, Ceas, and Westseven, and the return of John Monkman, the latest in the series is as diverse as it is distinct.

First up is John Monkman’s ‘Magnolia’. A cascading dive into the deep end, Magnolia’s haunting atmospheres and whirling leads culminate in an evocative track, triumphantly signalling Monkman's return to Anjunadeep after three years.

Featuring a infectious hook set to a pulsating chord progression, Xinobi’s ’Skulls’ is a floor filler for the masses, marking an impressive full label debut for the Lisbon producer.

Having recently released his first track in four years, Bedrock Records affiliate Yunus Güvenen steps up with ‘Lost In Sight’. Originating from Turkey, Güvenen’s production is both celestial and emotive, evoking the classic progressive sound of the 2000’s.

Ole Beige’s offering is an organic track imbued with tribal vocals and percussion. The German producer’s penchant for emotive house has previously seen the support from Pete Tong, epitomised in the soulful detuned chords and driven syncopated synthlines of ‘Tanzanian'.

A culmination of subtle percussion, nuanced keys, and soaring synths, Ceas’ ‘Parosse’ signals a promising future for the French Producer, previously one half of duo We Need Cracks.

Closing out Explorations 06 is ‘Seeds’ from Westseven, a new project from Kuala Lumpur based producer Rory Gallagher. ‘Seeds’ sees Gallagher bounce deep arpeggios off a brooding bassline to craft an enigmatic and hypnotic atmosphere.

@Milo-Greene’s infectious song “Move” gets a makeover from German DJ and producer Marco Niemerski, aka Tensnake.  While the original version tempts the listener onto the dance floor with its melodic guitars and driving bass lines, Tensnake’s take on the track demands it. Tensnake explains, "I tried different styles and versions, and also tried to make it more clubby. But somehow this 80s vibe made the most sense to me in combination with the super chill vocals." “Move” is the first single from the LA indie pop band’s upcoming full length album, Adult Contemporary, out September 7th.

‘Pulse Code EP’ by Amberflame – Andrei Zakharov’s (aka An-2) side project aimed at finding the right balance between organic yet experimental sound – is a selection of top-notch electronica with the flair of old-school disco and everything inbetween. The crafty and meticulous use of a variety of custom analogue hardware give way to keeping an open mind with production and sound design, which varies greatly, but at the same time, shares a coherent quality throughout the EP.

The opening track "Hope" sets the mood with its melancholic airy strings and pulsating arpeggios developing effortlessly until the groovy guitar bass kicks in lighting things up and giving the mix a completely new perspective.

Taking a more experimental edge ‘Pulse Code’ is a PCM-inspired leftfield electronica piece which goes a new direction with its solid synthwork and fluent drum programming.

The title of the closing cut ‘Dreamscape’ speaks for itself: it is a meditative electro-focused affair where gliding synth basslines meet ebb-and-flowing lush atmospheric soundscapes.
