when I stay up and write
I can feel my hands numb and start to bleed.
You keep saying the things I want,

contradict all the things you think I need.

a committed clown
so you won't see a frown upon my face.
I've learned by now to turn my head
the other way
I'll do the same,
the day we sift through our remains.

Sometimes when I'm stuck for what to write, I like to explore what a song might sound like if someone other than the actual writer had come up with it.

For this recording, what if Stevie Wonder had written "Love the One You're With" instead of Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash?
