On Saturday June 16th we recorded my set at the 10 year anniversary party of “Bounce”. This is an amazing outdoor party at the Keating Channel Pub. I spun between 7:30-9:30PM and this is a live unedited recording of my set. This is the first ever ill.Gates DJ mix from back in 2007. I had just come back from my first Burning Man and decided to reinvent myself. 

The scene was very different back then, there was no 'Glitch Hop', 'Halftime' or 'Space Bass' you could shop at a record store. All of the music was DIY, dubplates, IDs, etc. This mix represents an extremely rare snapshot of the birth of a scene that went on to take over the world.

I was there are the beginning and I'm still here today. I'm a freak for life and nobody is ever gonna change that.

We had a great crew of friends and family surrounding the stage and Mighty was already packed.  As we did last year, I played with my fellow band members Joel Kellogg on bass and Homer Hsu on violin.  We came up with a  sultry and sexy house mix that we thought would be rockin' those wee hours in the morning.  Many of the revelers there had been up all the night and the crowd and energy was electric inside.  Even with Nicole yanking a plug and stopping the music half way through our set, it didn't hamper the mood at all.  We rocked on through to one of my favorite sets of all time.  Thanks to the Space Cowboys for continuing to give us this grand stage to showcase our energy and vibe." - Clarkie
