I made this during a span of 10 months, starting with making a song for a short film, which then made me write more and lead to me creating this album, which I wrote through some difficult stretches in my life. I went to the bottom, and tried to find something real.
After so many years of living, everything stopped making sense.
Underneath the veil of a man who knew it all, I was just a boy, afraid.
A keen old eye looked through my soul after it all, and it was just like a sheet of glass.
It all came running back to me at night, when I was sleep deprived.
It hit me like a freight train, and I was frozen there for a while.
So many people I loved, so many people I’ve lost.
They have moved on, but I’m still going strong.
It didn’t take much to shut me down, just a little blow to the head.
For an hour or two they thought I was gone, but I’d never felt more alive.
Then they put me in a home with a rotten bed, and with no way to leave.
In the basement I went to find something real, there was just a table inside.
The straps were snug and dug into my skin, they felt like a mother’s hug.
They used a saw to break into my skull, and then they took a part of me away.
I feel different, I feel estranged, I don’t know who I am now.
Now I am just laying, with the maggots on my pillow case.
When I go to bed sometimes, I hear a train pass by.
If I had one wish I’d wish that one night, when I’m going to sleep, that train would derail and crash right into me.
Cause I’m just a cardboard cutout, of the man I used to be.

I open the door and step out,
I start to feel blood coming down my face,
Someone runs down and grabs onto me, 
When I look I see her blue eyes staring up at me,
I forgot Jessie lived down here.
She starts to lead me to the hospital down the street,
Lucky me, I get hit by a car on the block that has a hospital down the street.
But that’s okay, I’ll be just fine, I just need to walk it off,

No one in the house, can stand the mess I’ve made.
I’ve been banging on my broken door, 
I see people walking by but no one even knows.
Just getting by on fleeting texts,

When you can’t write down the stories you need to make the shit that no one’ll see,

I’ve locked myself in my room, for a good few days,
