태양 EP ALBUM [Down to Earth]

태양의 진솔한 이야기를 담은 두 번째 EP ALBUM [Down to Earth]가 발매되었다.

지난 1월 선공개된 ‘VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)'는 아티스트 태양의 고유한 아이덴티티를 다시 한번 각인시켰다.

이번 EP ALBUM [Down to Earth]는 발라드, 힙합, 소울 등 다양한 장르 위에 태양이 직접 전곡 작사에 참여하여 개인적인 이야기를 솔직하게 담아냈다.

태양이 뜨고 지는 과정에서 보이는 석양과 노을, 그리고 어두운 새벽의 다양한 색채를 담아낸 [Down to Earth]는 한층 더 성숙해진 아티스트 태양의 진면목을 느낄 수 있다.


[아티스트 노트]
이 앨범은 지난날 유난히 아름다웠던 노을을 바라보며 느꼈던 많은 감정과 영감들로부터 시작되었다.

하루의 마지막을 장식하는 노을은 매일 새로운 아침이 아닌 어두운 밤만을 맞이한다.

이처럼 내 세상도 과거의 아름다운 추억들로 다채롭게 물들어져 있지만, 정작 나를 찾아오는 것은 반복되는 밤의 연속이었기에 지난 6년의 시간 속 나의 모습과 상황이 노을과 닮아 있음을 느끼게 되었다.

그렇게 끝없이 자신에게 찾아오는 깊은 어둠을 노을은 아무런 말 없이 가장 아름다운 방법으로 자신이 맡은 역할을 수행하며 묵묵히 밤을 맞이하고 있다는 점에서 큰 위로와 감동을 받기도 했다.

반복되는 어려운 상황들과 혼자서는 이겨내기 힘들었던 지난 시간들은 나를 그 어느 때보다 자연스럽게 '초심'으로 돌아가게 했다.

그리고, 다시 힘차게 떠오를 새로운 시작을 그리는 마음을 이 앨범에 담게 해주었다.

인생의 새로운 챕터를 맞이하게 된 내게 지난 시간의 과정들은 내 인생에 있어 필요한 순간들이었음을 이제 조금은 알 것도 같다.

감사하게도 새로운 시작을 위해 내 마음은 더 낮아지게 되었고 그 순간을 맞이하기 위해 할 수만 있다면 더욱 낮아지고 싶다.

그리고 이 앨범은 부족한 나를 지금까지 이끌어주며 내 곁에서 함께해 준 소중한 사람들과 이어온 관계의 결과물이기도 하다.

나에게 새로운 터전이자 둥지가 되어준 더블랙레이블의 프로듀서들과 스태프들 또 무엇보다도 기약 없는 긴 시간 동안 나를 기다려준 팬들에게 무한한 감사를 전하고 싶다.

부디 이 앨범과 음악들이 작은 씨앗이 되어 건강한 한 그루의 나무로 자라날 수 있기를
