Had a fun time learning drums! After playing around with the drum rack and different drum sets - I ended on using the Sensor drum kit because of my love for synth sounds. Started playing and found a little groove that I liked after changing the settings a little bit! Once I finished I felt like the song still needed something more to it - I wanted something light and synth-y in it, so I went and searched around eventually landing on: Snow Peaks Arp. Wanted to learn how to have two tracks playing at once since our constraint was lifted - so I thought it was a fun touch to have playing around the song in the backgroud without taking away from the drums. At the end this song reminded me of squidward's "Alone at last" world - I'm not sure why but after listening to the completed version that was the first thing that popped into my head!

this track is "duct-tape music" at least 5 samples are played on the track. the main goal was goal-less exploration.

"The main theme of this song is looking forward and moving into a new chapter of life with a hopeful eye. A goal of ‘Arm around shoulders’ is to be slightly haunting with the lyrics, yet provide the listener with an explosive beginning, but a calming end. The process was done through first editing “Charles Bradley - Save the world” to have the trumpets come in later and be the catchy-est part of the song. Alongside “Save the world” we added a guitar part that adds flavor to the intro. The song then shifts over to the “Milton Nascimento - Minas” where the lyrics both haunt and intrigue the audience. The song then begins the calm guitar portion. We originally wanted a synth bass to go in the background of the guitar, but went on to find a beautiful 3 high notes on the deepmind synth to add that flowed beautifully with the guitar. The song then replays the lyrics of “Minas” .. and then ends with us whistling to the tune of the track. Making our voices the last part of the last song of this class. A beautiful ending." - Matthew
