Joining us for Tapes #115 is ERIS, a Berlin-based duo formed by Enrica Falqui and Dea. Two souls from different musical histories met on a simple night out. They instantly connected and their taste and passion spiralled into production and mixing sessions. Their debut EP was released on CABARET Recordings and with that Moments EP was created.

Enrica Falqui represents the Sardinian half of ERIS. Her journey begins somewhere in 2009, when she started to create music and DJ. The years that followed were filled with contributions to dance culture with her DJ sets, alias productions, and her own record label. Dea represents the Croatian half of ERIS. A woman who has danced on all floors and experienced many memorable musical journeys. Born into a family of musicians, Deawas dancing before walking and playing piano before she could write.

Alex Picone is a man who's seen many trends come and go and is now existing in a space outside of them; without a doubt occupying a unique spot in the dance music landscape. 

Primarily known these days as one of the co-founders of Seekers and Small Black Dots, with an extensive discography behind him and having put his hand to numerous other projects, there's a maturity to both his production and DJing that's rarely seen in tandem.

This propulsive, two-hour mix blurs the lines between the two; laden with Alex's own productions, the singularity of his artistic vision and depth of his record bag is on full display.

We met @KyleToole on the road back in the early days of The Ghost, something about his chirpy bubblin' vibe sparked an instant connection.

In the far north of Colombia, all the way along the Caribbean coast, you can find one of the world's best hostels called El Rio. This magnificent place is co-run by Ben Davies who left the north of the UK a decade ago in search of sun, snakes and waterfalls.

One element that makes El Rio special is that, since its inception, underground clubbing and electronic music have been central to the project. This manifests as endless club nights, riverside sunrises (and mornings), and the groundbreaking Bonanza festival, a happening that brings together the very best of Colombian, South American and global underground electronic dance music acts, all co-curated by Ben and Adi    

Ben Davies also deejays under the name Benny. His UK roots are never far away, which is something you will hear in this brand new Basic Moves mix, recorded live on Sunday evening of this year’s edition of Bonanza. I was on the dancefloor the whole time and when, a couple of months ago, Benny told me the set was recorded, it was a no-brainer to put it out on the Basic Moves platform.

Snakes, waterfalls and a lot of techno, breaks, trance and acidic goodies … just how we like it … give it up for Benny!
