Poker Flat Recordings has been dealing out underground house music with a unique twist since 1999; from the defining debut 'Loverboy' through the Bugnology series, acclaimed albums and worldwide club hits, Steve Bug's essential imprint has unearthed new talent, developed rising stars and welcomed veterans into the fold. Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet, as seen on this second instalment of the anniversary EP series called 4 Jacks. 

John Tejada's 'Sweat (On The Walls)' is a stone cold minimal house classic, and it's in expert hands here with the low-down groove of Sebo K; his refix keeps it deep and sparse, but adds a nice layer of shimmy and shake that reveals a new melodic accessibility. 

Daniel Dexter's 'No House For Old Men' was a beautifully melodic single that lit up playlists and dancfloors in 2011, and a new remix by Tom Taylor & Gareth Whitehead adds a rich palette of melodic color and harmony paired with a rolling, propulsive beat. 

The other half of the EP showcases new original productions: longtime Poker Flat friend Josh Wink delivers 'Groove', which bounces with tongue-in-cheek energy and Josh's signature deconstructed acid style, while rising talent Anaxander reveals the quirky, classic deep house inclinations that has endeared him to labels like Quintessentials and Local Talk, with the lovely 'A Place To Go'.

Fifteen years deep, and Poker Flat Recordings is still at the top of its game.

After years apart, we've finally got the boys back on our screens later this month. What better way to celebrate than by marking another return, to the label of their post-breakout "Stash" victory lap. Aus, Belfast and Boiler Room: there's no place like home.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels. Atmospheric swells are pieced by gatling-gun snares; the tension builds but never releases, making this a surefire precursor to the bulk of heavyweight set climaxes you're likely to hear this summer. As ever, the aural equivalent of 20,000 bicep emojis.

Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Earlier this year, we Debut'd a cut off the very first BleeD 12": that whole release was great, and this is even better. We weren’t originally allowed to reveal the buddy boys behind Rote, but it wouldn't have required too much guesswork. In the end, that veil of anonymity didn’t last long – which makes sense, given that "Rote 2" falls right in line with the enveloping, hypnotic, go-long techno both Daniel Avery and Volte-Face propagate as producers and DJs.

As well as this cut and the similarly tunnelling "Rote 1", there's also some typically brilliant remixes on the flip from Svreca and DJ Nobu. We'll stop running these BleeDing premieres when they give us a reason to.

EP1 is killer, and you should be buying it come October 9th. No excuses.
