Track 1 of my Sonic EP, which consists of 7 tracks and is a remixed version of previous university compositions for portfolios.

'Intro' is nice, simple and relaxing and a great way of setting up the emotions embedded within the EP. Enjoy!

The second track from my Sonic EP, which consists of 7 tracks, all of which were former university compositions and are now being brought together and remixed for better audio production. 

'Trails', following 'Intro' is based around the same chord progression as track 1 and is a whole lotta notes in a very short space of time. Enjoy!

Trails

'Outro', track 3 of my Sonic EP, which consists of 7 tracks, all of which were former university assignments. Each track ranges between 3rd year (tracks 1-3, 'Intro', 'Trails' and 'Outro' - Sonic Advance 1) work and MSc (masters - tracks 4-7, 'Final Boss', 'Extra Ending', 'True Area 53' and 'Ending Credits' (my personal favourite) - Sonic Advance 2). 

Track 3, 'Outro', is the longest track on the EP, and is still pretty short at 2:15. There's lots and lots of groove in this piece - it's very Funky - there're solos, catchy melodies, horns, call-and-response solos and even more horns. This track fits nicely into the ending credits of Sonic Advance 1.

Track 4, 'Final Boss', was the first composition I wrote for a masters assignment in regards to the Sonic Advance 2 game. It was one of four (main) tracks that were/are my own. 

There's a lot of synth in this evil-sounding track!

Track 5, 'Extra Ending', was designed for the scene AFTER 'True Area 53' (track 6) where Sonic is falling rapidly back to Earth with Cream's mother (in Sonic Advance 2), but seems to work better before it (out of the context of video/moving pictures). 

'Extra Ending' is a fast-paced track designed to build up energy and give listeners and idea of what's going on in the game.

Track 6, 'True Area 53', is my personal interpretation/composition of/for the True Area 53 level from Sonic Advance 2. This is a very stressful level, very complicated, so the music represents this in terms of its complexity and tension.

Track 7, 'Ending Credits', like track 3, 'Outro', is designed to work with the ending credits of the game, but this time with Sonic Advance 2, instead of Sonic Advance 1.

'Ending Credits' is a whole lot of fun and is based around the original ending credits - chord progressions, rhythms, etc - but is still entirely of my own creation and vision so, in that respect, it's completely different from the original song. Also, because this track, and every other, has been based around the original songs in both games and is not composed in an 8-bit setting, there's arguably a lot more scope for emotional investment.
