I wrote this song for a contest. Or, more accurately, I'd come up with the jangle-pop-like instrumental months before. Then, when I'd caught wind that there was a contest tied to my school with the theme being about hopefulness, I found myself revising the lyrics to be about love to something more personal. The chorus came very naturally to me; I remember I didn't even have to write the words down. The break leading into the bridge was something new. I remember the synth solo, played on a Prophet, had to be more meticulously composed than any of the other parts. If you listen closely, there are little glockenspiel flourishes after each chorus leading back into the verses. I love this song and it makes me feel very wistful. Until now, I'd considered it my greatest song.

This is a short classical piece I wrote while entrenched in a particularly tender bout of love for my dog, Porsha. It is dedicated to her. It is in the beautiful Locrian mode and written for free-form bongos and vibraphone.
