There's man who's lost in a dark, dead and broken world full of storms that scare him. A constant night.
He hears it - the low, rumbling alarm. It's calling for him. The sound is distant.
He stands on the edge of the forest as a vibrant light flashes on the other side of the trees in sync with the alarm. The light glows through the gaps in the trees and onto his face. It's the first light he's felt for years.
He watches it, taking in the show as it lights up the sky for the first time again and again.
He knows that he must find the source of the light.
He cannot rest until he does.
Maybe there's a way he can keep the lights on.
Perhaps it's a machine that just needs fixed. 
Perhaps that's why it's been so dark for so long. 
Perhaps it's calling for help.
Like he has.
Maybe he needs to help himself.
With a deep sigh, he stumbles into the deep unknown, the overgrown forest. 
A journey to fix the light in the sky.
Thick deadwood craving to be burnt off in the sunlight on every tree.
Rain soaks his clothes deep, his raincoat is useless against the power of these rains.
Cuts cover his skin from the thorns and branches in his path.
Trees fall in his way but he climbs over them.
Because still he pushes onward.
The light - it comes and goes as the light flashes on and off. Pure dark then pure light but he continues walking. No matter if the light is on or off. Because he knows the light will return.

And although the sound echoes over the wasteland in an unnerving way it's still calming to him, the forest scares him right to his core but he finds comfort knowing there's something brighter on the horizon.
Onward, towards the unknown.
