Alongside some synth voices, I use random samples that I made over the past years.

Immerse yourself into the sonic world of Matthias Millhoff, a skilled modular synth artist who crafts mesmerizing soundscapes infused with beats, sparkles and rust.

With over 20 years of experience as a music producer, Matthias has achieved notable success, even reaching the top of the charts. Prior to his current solo journey, he formed one half of the improvisation-focused Techno-Duo INSTANT, performing at renowned Berlin venues like Sisyphos, Golden Gate, Renate, and Watergate, as well as captivating audiences across Europe from Paris to Athens and Moscow. Matthias also played a crucial role in the creation of the Red Bull Giant Sequencer, a remarkable collaborative project with Neulant van Excel, now showcased at the Museum Our House in Amsterdam. Additionally, for the past three years, he has been actively involved in the innovative game theater project, Machina Ex.

Matthias's musical journey originated from his early experiences with the piano, but he soon delved into the realm of electronic instruments, drawing inspiration from the rising techno scene in his hometown Kassel. Throughout his artistic endeavors, improvisation has remained a constant companion. His work as a mixing and mastering engineer has deepened his understanding of sound. Having spent a significant portion of his life in Berlin, he has embraced the city's rich artistic diversity as a canvas for exploring different directions, ranging from jazz, hip-hop to techno with his latest works also sometimes taking a deep dive into the realms of ambient and downtempo.

Modular synths are all about improvisation and improvisation is all about the present moment.
