The second chapter of Mood Waves’ Digital Moods series finds the label crew and close affiliates navigating the smoother side of their sonic spectrum - though “smooth” here comes with the subtext of late-night mischief. Five tracks, five angles, yet a shared thread: music designed for the after-hours mind, whether that’s a living room deep dive or the final stretch of a club marathon. Among the contributions sits a slice of nocturnal hypnosis from one of the label’s own - DJ Tjizza - who uses Astrodome to remind us that sometimes the straightest path to transcendence is the one without any scenic detours.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza strips things to their essentials: an Acid line with purpose, a rhythm that doesn’t waver, and a partly spoken vocal that lands like a coded message from another frequency. The groove is unrelenting, the atmosphere shaded in darker hues, and there’s no sense of playful meandering - Tjizza has you locked in from the first bar and keeps you there, suspended in a bubble where time bends to the beat. It’s a track that thrives in the later hours, when the crowd is less concerned with build-ups and breakdowns, and more attuned to the hypnotic momentum of a well-aimed groove.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza delivers a distilled statement of intent that fits seamlessly into "Digital Moods 02’s" deep-flowing aesthetic while adding that edge of after-hours bite. The third collaborative EP sees Clergy boss, Cleric, team up with French artist Kmyle. On remix duties is Blueprint label owner, James Ruskin, in what is a perfect way to conclude the final chapter in this series of five releases (CRG011 - 015). The ‘Empty Shells EP’ is due for release April 12th.

‘Empty Shells’ offers an unusually stripped back approach, concentrating on the raw modular rhythm that carries the track. Ruskin then offers his own perspective, adding sparse percussion and different synth elements to offer a driving counterpart to the original.

The flip side starts with ‘Vostrax’, a strong, powerful production that teases you with acidic elements that breathe in and out of solid rhythmic, distorted drums. For the final track of the EP ‘Televised’ slows things down in tempo, but still offers a hard hitting edge.
