This is very rare, digitized version of Aphex Twin's set at Furthur from 1994. The promoters of the party did not record this -- it was provided to me by a 3rd party / fan on cassette tape and was digitized from that.

This is Side B of a very rare, digitized version of Aphex Twin's set at Furthur from 1994 (Wisconsin). Unfortunately, I received it on cassette tape, so the quality wasn't perfect. In addition, when I digitized it, I noticed a large gap of silence around the 12 minute mark (not sure what happened there), so I faded the mix out, deleted the silence, and faded it back in.

DJ Set - March 2016 Mix

Trainspotters Nightmare was a label i used to run with Glenn Wilson of Planet Rhythm, between 1995-1997. It all started with me releasing an obscured 2 track black 12 inch vinyl with no visible title. An idea my friend Danijel Alpha had was to only inscribe the titles onto the vinyl itself, so no unauthorised trainspotters could see what records you where playing.  And after receiving many interesting demo tapes from all corners of the world, a platform was needed where we could release trax that didnt fully fit on our labels H-Productions and P-Rhythm. 

So we continued and during the 2 years we managed to launch 13 vinyl releases, including special colored vinyls and double 12 inch albums. We realized that it would not be fair towards the other artists, if we didnt place names and titles on the vinyl centerlabels. This resulted in us addapting a Trainspotters Nightmare logo in Brail writing which suited the “Ghetto Booty” sound template of the label - being rusty, broken, skewed or even a bit out of sync.

From Finland we have some truly exotic jacking tracks by Ari Jukka, Jori Hulkkonen and Tuomas Juhani. Austria is represented by V-Key from Vienna, that also had an amazing electronic dancemusic scene back in the 90s. Chicago pioneers Steve Poindexter, Gene Hunt and The Beatjunkies bring in the scent of legendary clubs like Warehouse and the Music Box. Besides my own name Cari Lekebusch there also are a few tracks released under my pseudonyme Mr Barth, and the Twobasementboys consist of me and Frankfurtian original freaknoisefunker Oliver Bondzio.

Now, 20 years after the labels discontinuation, it was time for me to record a nice retrospective line through the catalog. Enjoy the jack! * with peace / Cari *

Mic Mills and Furious Frank - Bess Is On Acid 7"

Drifting as a snow smattered cloud from The North, breathing icy winds crackling with the splinters of crystal water and effervescent dust, Hedge Maze returns to the Lobster Theremin fold with four gently glowing tracks-from-the-hut that span crunchy house, hotel elevator ambient, deep-sea techno and skittering percussive drone. 

Sand-blasted productions that steadily curdle and bake with the treatment of valve-driven machinery, steadily condensing ideas on a window pane in Todmorden. 

Both Kerb Hits and Hyowl tread familiar Hedge Maze territory; coated in hazy noise, rumbling along in a hap-hazardous late night stagger and drawing melodic elements from the radiance of passing street lamps. 

Ourca find Hedge Maze in mask and flippers, diving below the light and into the darkness of the Pacific where only the blue and killer whales reside. Calling out from the void and feeding the racing heartbeat of the terrified and wondered observer. 

Interlude is the final masterpiece. An elevator refrain heard a thousand times reimagined for end-of-the-night slow dance usage. A club-cleanse born out of an opposing idea. Swaying as one or as two or as three or more. The curtain drawing on the final act.

Lawrence Kurt, Berlin based DJ and producer, one of the founders of OECUS project. He came into contact with electronic music in his teenage years. His career is founded on the passion he has developed through the years. The passion for electronic music has grown over the years leading him into the world of production. During his performances he encountered some of the most respected DJs and producers of the electronic scene who strongly influenced his productions which can be identified by their consistency and their combination of techno grooves and melodies.
Recently Lawrence Kurt has contributed to a reputable podcast series Invite's Choice which has been well-received by techno lovers, showing his flawless hold on techno. Last month Lawrence had the honour to be standing behind the bars at Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL) and presented an impressive array of techno with his set of discerning selection at New Faces.

Educated by dub and drum and bass, his approach to producing heavenly relies on hands-on techniques, giving his production an un-mistakable flavour. His dedication and love for music and gear make it so that he spends most of his time in the studio, exploring new sounds and techniques while crafting beats on the fly.
