If there is a secret to happiness, it’s simply this. Always be positive. Fill yourself and your life with positive energy, and don’t leave room for negative thoughts and emotions. Don’t waste energy on drama or look for problems. Don’t spend time thinking about things that depress you. Be joyful. Look for the good things in life. Look for the good side of everything and everyone around you. Be positive. Feel it deep inside, and share that feeling. Your positive energy will shine out and fill those around you.

Affirmation 8: Positive Energy

When you love another person, you would do anything for them to make them happy. It’s the same for yourself. Self love is about taking care of yourself, and ensuring that your own needs are met. It’s not selfish, and sometimes that can be hard to realize, especially for a compassionate person. How often do you give up what you want so that you can give someone else what they need? Self-sacrifice is admirable, but in the long run, you need to look after yourself in order to have the mental and emotional strength to take care of those around you. So do what you need to do to make yourself happy, and let that joy fill the world around you.

Affirmation 2: Self Love

All of us struggle with the need to hold on: to both tangible and intangible things. But in order to know true freedom, and true joy, we have to learn to let go of everything that is holding back from being our true selves. Your past does not define who you are: your past is part of your journey, but now it is gone. You can learn from your past, but you must not let it overwhelm you. Dwelling on the mistakes, sadnesses and injustices of the past will only bring you more unhappiness.  Let go of those things. Focus on the Now, and move forward with your life.

Affirmation 4: Letting Go Of The Past

Clinging to what is familiar is often a source of comfort to us. In times of trouble, we instinctively turn to what we know, and fall into habitual patterns of behavior. Or when we achieve a level of contentment, we accept things as they are. But without change, we cannot grow or heal. Without change, we cannot have new experiences. Without change, we cannot open ourselves up to our true potential. We need to learn to accept change all the time, whether those changes come from ourselves or from outside. Even changes that seem to set us back are the pathway to something new.

Affirmation 5: Accepting Change

Why is it that so many of us spend our lives saying “I wish” or “If only…?” Often, it’s fear that stops us following our true path, and achieving our heart’s desire. Fear of failure. Fear of letting other people down. Fear of seeming foolish or strange. Fear of what might happen. Fear of change. Fear of the unknown. To make the most of our lives, we have to learn to put aside those fears, and follow our dreams in spite of our misgivings.

Affirmation 6: Fearlessness

It’s easy to let stress dominate our lives. Sometimes we’re facing our own issues, but often the stress comes from the actions of others. We can choose to allow that stress to rule the way we live, but we can also choose to step away from it or rise above it. By distancing ourselves from stress, we can better see how to solve those problems that can be solved, and shut out the things that bring no joy to our lives.

Affirmation 14: Releasing Stress

Material possessions do not define who you are: having more things, or more expensive things, does not make you a better person. Focus your energies instead on the things in life that have real meaning: love, friendship, compassion, experiences. Let go of the need to own things, and make the most of what you already have inside you.

Affirmation 13: Freedom From Materialism

From an early age, we are all taught about the importance of control. We seek to control our environment, our future, our daily lives, and even other people. We feel the need to be the one making decisions. It’s not necessarily about power, it’s often about taking responsibility. We’re trying to get things done, and we have to take control of the situation to make sure that everything happens as we want it to. But that control can be restrictive and confining. We constantly judge ourselves and blame ourselves when things don’t turn out as we expect. When events don’t meet our expectations, it can make us unhappy or sick. We need to let go of the need to control, and let things happen naturally. Let others make the decisions for us, even if it’s not what we would have chosen. Let events unfold naturally. Relax, let go and enjoy your life.
