New-York based producer James Juke delivers a 4-track EP on Frappé and this record is likely to go down as one of the strongest house music release of the year. This is a solid, funk-infused, electronic inclined and infectiously groovy EP, with each track having its own flavour.

Funkyjaws Music launches a new edits series here with four absolute dons of the form on one vital 12". It's Lay Far that kicks off with 'Never Ever Edit' which is all horn-led excitement and upbeat disco claps and kicks before Admin's 'Moon Trippin' takes a more slow and soulful approach. When it comes to edits few are more essential than Chicago's Rahaan who kicks off the B-side with 'Gonna Get Ya', a leggy funk number infused with cosmic synth rays and warm piano chords. Delfonic shuts down with the loose percussive jumbles and jazzy vibes of 'Let's Dance The Spank'. A fine start to the series with volume two already in the works.

Hot on the heels of his Princely party piece ‘Nasty Girl’ last month, Robsoul roustabout Phil Weeks continues to
join the dots with the very foundations of this music and remind everyone where some of the strongest
ingredients came from. And this time he’s gone straight back to 82 for a synth riff that sparks up any situation
(ahem) .
You’ll know it the second it drops. That crisp riff, that reverb, the shimmering loopiness and plucked synth
bassline; Weeks has captured the essence of the seminal Mute release and added a whole new chapter with a
little wry, tongue in cheek wit from Joe Le Groove who’s so on point he even warns you when the bassline
drops.
Forever keeping us on our toes, Weeks flips the switch for the second track ‘I Don’t Care’. A sublime contrast to
the synth splashed sizzles on the A, this one plunges much deeper down a groove rabbit hole, all rolling,
percussive, filtered and splashed with lavish but restrained disco vocals. Two sides, two stories, one continued
push into a cracking new year for Weeks. This will keep us out of any bad situations for a long while…

It's a pleasure to have Tom Jay on board, and he has presented us with 2 amazing disco-tinged club cuts, ‘Thief’ & 'Let Go’. Sitting alongside these two groovers we have a remix of ‘Thief’ from Tilman. We're massive fans of Tilman’s work over at PF, and his mix of ’Thief’ is right on the button.

As you are about to read, I have not paid for a professional bio and I am not going to talk about myself in the third person. I am a beard shaker from Glasgow, Scotland where I produce deep, chunky, jazzy, tribal, spiritual vibrations. I am either in control of the music or strutting about the dance floor like a confused flamingo mixed with a nervous spring onion. You may need good quality drugs to enjoy my music - poor quality drugs may also work.

My vibrations have found their way onto some of the most respected underground labels in the world – Elrow Music, KMS Records, Nite Grooves (King Street Sounds), Great Stuff (VA), Material Series, Simma Black, Madtech (MTDL), Toolroom (Ibiza VA), iRecords, InHouse, Flashmob, Younan Music and more. I also co-own record label Cueca Recordings with Jonathan David (CAN).

My track "Jazz Kneecaps" reached #1 in the Traxsource Deep House charts in 2018 and I was in the top 100 best selling deep house producers on Traxsource in 2018, 2019 & 2020. I have officially remixed Wally Lopez, Darren Emerson (Underworld), Kevin Yost, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax, Saeed Younan & Charles Ramirez. 

My music has also been remixed by heavy hitters Joeski, Demuir, Ellroy and Hauswerks. I now have 4 vinyl releases with 2 on Material Series alongside Danny Serrano, Raffa FL, and Eskuche & Nu Sky. My mum turned one of them into a cake stand and another one into a clock. Probably make more money selling them that way.
