Hypochondriac started off as a verbal vomit verse from a colourful time of my life. Written during a run in with a bus stop, a sword, some extreme morning binge-drinking and consequently the law. 

I then added a 2nd verse to it about half a year later with a different perspective, banged in a chorus and got it recorded.

Matt Murphy writes, records and performs lyrically driven self psycho-analytical songs in the form of vocally melodic rap music.  

The art is brutally and uncompromisingly honest with content covering an array of gritty, real life situations that make for interesting story-telling. The subject matter can be thought provoking and melancholy at times, but there is a tongue in cheek and jovial aspect to his songs with a fundamentally optimistic outlook. Although difficult to define stylistically, the artists he's  most commonly compared to are Jamie T, Mike Skinner, Plan B and Billy Bragg.
