Formed in 2008, The Good Dog Happy Band is currently in its third (and hopefully final) reconfiguration. The ensemble was put together by US trumpet Matthew Postle as part of his PhD which he is currently working on at the University of York (UK).

The Good Dog Happy Band performs a mixture of traditional american folk music, country, and music by Bill Frisell. Through unique and sometimes quirky arrangements, the ensemble collective improvises through material to create a sense of past and present. The Good Dog Happy Band has performed in local Yorkshire pubs, at the University of York, and is currently scheduling music festivals in the UK for summer/autumn 2010.
