I loved how this song turned out so I decided to change it... Ha! I sent it over to Sasha Punch and ask him to do his version. I told him to keep that baseline because I thought it was really tough. This is the result. I think I like this one the best now. :-)

You've Got (Sasha Punch Mix)

I love dance music! Truth is, this is the first album in decades that used real instruments and was done in an alternative rock style. Most of my adult life has been spent in the dance / electronic space. So to appease my own geekly love of dance music I had this song remixed by one of my producers in the Ukraine named Sasha Punch. I would have done it myself but I was so out of practice better to have some at the top of their game take a swing at it. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I do.

David and I share a similar perception. We have both felt like getting married, having babies and doing the normal show was most empty and unfulfilling. We both felt more whole and complete when we were contributing and making a difference. This is the final song on the album and it reflects our ideas that making a difference is the ultimate experience.

I Am Here (To Make a Difference)

David and I wanted to create a tribute to my father, Mike Ferry. He has made such a difference in my life and yet I spent most of my life resisting him. Once I got sober, I realized he was on my side the entire time. I presented this song to my father as a birthday gift with a slideshow of old photos. It was one of the first times I really saw him get choked up. Wonderful moment.

Forgive Me Father (Tribute to Mike Ferry)

One of my clients at the time was a real downer. Every time we were on the phone he would bitch and moan and complain. He kept creating a reality he didn't want over and over again. David and I were inspired to write this song based on this client's experience of life. This is my message to him.

You've Got

I was hanging out with Mark Victor Hansen (author of Chicken Soup for the Soul series) a bunch at this time. He had just asked his girlfriend Crystal to marry him. He was telling me the story of how he was so excited that she said yes that he kept asking her over and over again using bigger and more dramatic themes each and every time. This inspired me. On the way home I started singing, "Say yes again... And remind me one more time... how lucky I am" I called David and we were off to the races. I ended up creating 70% of this song on my ipad. Which was a blast because I had never done that before.

I ended up making one CD for every guest at their wedding and they played the song as a part of the ceremony.

Wedding Song (Say Yes Again)

As I deepened my spiritual practices and started to realize that life wasn't anything until I called it something, I woke up. My mind went quiet and the world seemed to transform into a vivid high definition. This song talks about going from the dull black and white world of the intellect to the vivid colorful world of enlightenment.

Color Blind

I decided to get sober in 2003 because my spiritual practices had revealed the degree to which I was being a fool. I was letting the drugs and alcohol run my life. I was making really bad decisions. I was going through bouts of depression. I kept trying to use my personal development techniques to mask how I really felt but it wasn't working. David and I wrote this song to connect with that new realization that I needed to hit the reset button.

This was very hard time in my relationship with Claudine (my second wife). She was upset that I was no longer her party buddy. I was diving deep into my spiritual practices. She didn't enjoy or appreciate my spiritual process. I didn't want to drink, party and hang out with a bunch of drunk people on the weekends anymore. We were starting to live separate lives in our marriage. I was awake. I could see it. I was constantly using my techniques to reengage, take responsibility and own up to my side of the process. This song is me reflecting on my own resentments and how they had contributed to us not feeling connected.

I'm Sorry (I've been stupid)

Inspired by my relationship with my own father and how he influenced me to be more connected to my kids, David Keesee and I wrote this heartfelt ballad about renouncing working hard and ignoring the family. In 2008 I got off the road and dedicated myself to living a family-centric lifestyle and this song points to the mental emotional and spiritual process I went through.

I really enjoyed making this song. We hired an orchestrator in San Francisco to create the piano and orchestra for us. It was very inspiring to go through that process. And by the way, that's Lucas (my fourth son) talking to me as a baby in the beginning and end of the song.

Precious Moments

I accidentally created a movement in Seattle with a process I started calling The Gift.

My good friends Thach, Kristen and Mark organized events, a podcast and ultimately a book around the subject. David Keesee and I decided to write a song to commemorate the process of giving The Gift. You will get a hint as to the origin story behind the process.

The Gift

In 2008 I collaborated with my friend David Keesee on an album. We decided to write a collection of songs about the struggles of life which create new insights and ultimately transformation.

Why You Hatin' on Me Now was a song we wrote about my wife at the time who seemed to get annoyed with my desire to change, shift, up-level and transform. Every time I took on a new personal discipline to improve myself, she complained.

This song gives you my thoughts and feelings regarding being under constant scrutiny when all I was trying to do was make my life better.

Hey! Glad you are here!! I've been writing songs in the EDM and electronica genres since the 90's. But lately, I've been doing more singer-songwriter style. 

My most notable success was co-writing the song "You Won't See Me Cry" with artist/DJ Markus Schulz and Roger Wade, which spent 9 weeks on the Billboard magazine Dance Club Play charts in 1999, peaking for 3 weeks at #38.

In the early 2000's I made a left turn, got out of the songwriting for others business and started making music for my clients. I started writing songs about inspiration, empowerment, and I've tried to promoted ideas of self-realization and living a fulfilling life.

I've released music under the name Vertigo Deluxe and under my own name. Some of my releases have been Energy Affirmations, Love Explosion, and Reset Button. I've been writing for others again and wrote a song for a female artist named Nuttalya https://www.nuttalya.com/. I also have a release on Cold Harbour Recordings.

Over the years my messages have become more thoughtful, inspirational, introspective and spiritually focused.
