London-based producer Mattr joins the Mesh Mix series with a deep dive into lush leftfield sounds, laced with breaks and techno, and stitched together with his signature emotive touch

This mix is a sharp blend of driving rhythms and deep textures, showcasing Mattr’s boundary-pushing sound built for the dancefloor.

In Mattr's own words, 'I listen to a fairly broad palette of styles within the electronic music sphere so I've always tried to traverse genres in my mixes. This mix follows that same flow, starting warm, slowly ramping up through a couple of genres ending up a bit more peak time and then bringing it down to something more ambient.

It was really fun to put together, I love the challenge of finding ways of traversing styles whilst trying to keep a logical flow to the overall mix. It represents a lot of what I've been listening to over the last couple of years, some older and some newer artists I've discovered along the way."

Fresh off the heels of his Renaissance Records debut in February, is Lando E.P. from Mattr.

Finding deep resonance with the likes of forward-thinking artists like Max Cooper, Otikk, Boards of Canada, Overmono, Jon Hopkins, & Ulrich Schnauss, Matthew Clugston aka Mattr, has always veered towards the leftfield end of the electronic spectrum, fusing granular synthesis, random midi-expressions with intricate drum programming at the root of his signature raw emotive productions.

Following his remix for Max Cooper, Mattr’s next releases are two electronica / breaks tracks on his own imprint Loft & Sound. With these two records Mattr continues to build out his crafted approach to electronica with two intricately layered and textural records. Tal features syncopated melodies, heavy bass and melancholic pads. Rand fuses granular synthesis and found sounds with delicate instrumental flutters to create an optimistic and atmospheric record.
