Marseille's Matt Sassari and Vienna's Matt Mor break off from their busy schedule on the European DJ circuit to prove that they share not only a name, but a love of brutally intense tech house and the technical mastery to deliver it. The Apaneka EP, the first of several collaborative releases, is a trio of exercises in pure intensity, primed for the most committed and harder-edged dancefloors.
"Apaneka" takes no prisoners from the off, plunging you into a dark, Gigeresque uni- verse of latent menace, the distant groans of a trapped Hulk lurking ominously in the mix. The wobbling throb of "Here and Now" increases the intensity, offering enlighten- ment and escape through its unforgiving repetition. "Modelisme Portatif" showcases the duo's production skills, taking you on a journey from outside the warehouse to deep inside the rave. Sassari & Mor pull out all the stops, expertly building tension and adding rubbery analogue motifs to their technoid palette. All three cuts display a deep attention to detail, with carefully curated sounds and samples interweaved and layered around the booming heart of each track.
With Sassari set to tour Brazil and North America this fall, this 7th release on Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds imprint is another pan-European collaboration with global potential.

We started Clubwerks 6 months ago so we could showcase the work of a couple of artists who impressed us with their novel music-making powers. Many more appeared on the way so it grew fast into a label with a busy release schedule for 2015 that will also feature music by some of the new talent on this compilation.

The Clubwerks Christmas Compilation is our kind of a family reunion for the heads but also, objectively speaking, an arsenal of novelties and functional club tracks wrapped up neatly in a cohesive set. These are tracks to be experienced in dark rooms or open fields, so what better way to show them off than in a sequence. There are never enough good dance tracks in a DJ's collection and all of these could easily stand out in any so we hope you'll be hearing these in a club near you.

B.O.M is yet another incredibly promising young Swiss producer from Basel to join our expanding Clubwerks crew. His music is unexpected and as intriguing as it is straight-forward. He makes slowly-building impactful drum tracks that draw on ghetto-tech, touch on stripped-down bass music and exude clubby functionalism intended for minimal-leaning, open-minded crowds. 

With the exception of Jucy, the gorgeous house chant that opens the Abracadabra EP, all tracks are percussion-based jams packed with clever and fun instrumental moments alongside cool vocal hooks. 

Each track has a particularly strong personality and seems better than the previous one, which is a rare feat on a 6 track EP. With the arrival of artists such as B.O.M we can only anticipate more and more surprising music such as his, because this EP is nothing short of a definition of Clubwerks' musical intentions.

Hungary’s leading techno light Paul Strive returns to SCI+TEC, having teamed up with Washington based producer Zenbi on their smash new single ‘Wanna Tell You.’

Having made his label debut back in 2014, Paul launched himself onto the world stage with a brace of EPs that saw him segue from a big-room house sound into darker techno territory. A line that he’s confidently and creatively straddled ever since.

Equally at home crossing musical borders is Zenbi. Raised on a diet of Philly’s greatest electronic sons (& daughters), the producer now shares his club residencies between his adopted cities. His own staunch, groove-heavy sound is a perfect partner for Paul’s tougher tendencies.

Wanna Tell You sees the duo deliver their message through dense driving drums, glistening snares, stimulating rushes and a sinister vocal.

The pair go Dutch with their choice of remixers and hand over the baton to rising stars and Carl Cox favourites Park & Sons, who rattle our senses with their rapid-fire snares, quaking kick-drum and sci-fi sounds.
