Matty Innocent is a DJ, producer, recording engineer, and lecturer from England whose sound is rooted in the underground pulse of House, Tech House, and Techno. With over 25 years behind the decks and in the studio, Matty has honed an electrifying style, driven by deep, dark basslines and relentless grooves,that transforms any dancefloor into a space of pure connection and energy.

The creator of DISTINCTION, an events management company, recording studio, and party brand, Matty is also a resident DJ and producer for the legendary Riffraff, one of the longest-running underground music events in the Northeast of England. Over the years, he has shared the stage with industry greats including James Zabiela, Darren Emerson of Underworld, and X-Press 2. His performances are a masterclass in building intensity working across four decks with precision layering, live looping, and the integration of outboard instruments and effects to create spontaneous, one-off moments that can’t be replicated.

Matty’s musical journey began in the early 1990s, inspired by the raw, boundary-breaking sounds of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. Those influences forged a style that is both diverse and original forward-thinking, yet deeply connected to the roots of underground club culture. His love for music and the unity of the dancefloor is at the heart of every set, creating an atmosphere where togetherness thrives.

Beyond his own productions, Matty has held residencies across the UK and hosted shows on Riffraff Radio, Unite Radio, and other international platforms. In the studio, he is steadily building a reputation as a producer to watch crafting tracks packed with energy, style, and soul-shaking low end.
