Six years after part 1 I decided to put the Silk back in the Soul: Let's take you back once again to the late 80s/early 90s in Silky Soul 2! 
Part 2 picks up where part 1 left off: a selection of tracks from mainstream artists that got remixed into club-friendly house mixes by my favourite early 90s US/UK/IT producers: The Steve “Silk” Hurley/E-Smoove/Maurice Joshua and Def Mix (Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Satoshi Tomiie) production/remix teams, Shep Pettibone, Masters At Work, Joey Negro, Dimitri From Paris, Eric Kupper and more. 
When I started selecting the amount of tracks added up quickly giving me two options: Split up in two parts or make it one long mix? I chose for the second option, resulting in a 5 hour mix, containg 64 tracks, with over 100 different versions (dubs, instumentals, remixes) used. With 3 weeks of digging, selecting and hunting down (and wait for) missing dubs (to arrive). The mixing process took me 5 weeks to complete. A few hours every day, a new puzzle to solve every time: How am I going to fit this track with the next one.

S.W. presents Silky Soul 2 - A vocal ride into early 90s Garage House

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
