Fjunu is a fresh name in the scene. He has always been a passionate music listener, until 2018 when he caught up on house music and started producing and DJing small gigs.
Through small gigs in his hometown and neighboring cities Fjunu has developed a distinct deep, dark and quirky sound with precise and smooth mixing that you can often hear in his sets.
Even though he likes to play deep sounds, he doesn’t want to stick on genres too much, so you can also hear a wide range of different soundscapes from him.

Dublin based producer, Laughing Man has been producing since 2007 under various aliases. His style of music can be described as atmospheric house with minimal beats, breaks and a strong bass line, creating a unique blend of electronic music catering to fans of anything deep. He has released music on labels such as Berg Audio, Fasten Musique Concrete, Druzhba and Daydream to mention a few. He has also released records on his own label Standalone Records as well as his new imprint Hosta.
A veteran DJ in Dublin’s club scene, Laughing Man runs his own events in various venues throughout the capital. Over the last few years, he has brought his music abroad, playing in the UK, France and Belgium as well as playing for the first time at DC-10 in Ibiza at one of Game Overs’ One Night Stand events. 2020 has been a very productive year for Laughing Man with regard to releases and with more exciting projects yet to come in 2021

His aesthetic mixtapes are all characterised by that inexplicable vibe - an intangible feeling we seek every time we go out but almost never find. A hazy memory of a night we never had, in a place we’ve never been ... but somehow, it all feels real.

This time on the Maucast series we have something special for your listening pleasure: one hour of Funk E live from his set at Grădina Monteoru garden in Bucharest with SIT a few weeks ago.

If you’ve ever encountered that feeling of being hit by some raw energy that grounded you in the present moment, chances are you’ve crossed paths with one of Funk E’s productions, under his own name, behind strange aliases or teaming up with his studio friends.

With solid roots as a DJ in the post-communist freshly born romanian hip hop culture, Laurentiu(yup, his real name) started to taste the techno sweetness somewhere in the early 2000s’. 2004 marked his relocation to Ibiza, making the island the perfect ground for nurturing his electronic alter ego for 12 straight years. Embracing tech house for his long DJ sets, he quickly became a regular for Bucharest’s pretentious afterparty crowds and also secured residencies at Ibiza’s
Zoo Project daytime parties and at the intimate Underground, year after year during his long stay on the sleepless island.

Drawing inspiration from the Ibiza quiet winters, when time almost stands still, Funk E started his production journey around 2008, using an old Emu MP7 hip hop groovebox which he ingeniously tamed to create techno beats. Beats that have evolved into his signature sound, a
bassline led groove targeting our very own electronic central nervous system. Labels like Adult Only, Raum...musik, Kurbits, Pleasure Zone or The Rabbit Hole added Funk E into their catalog. And when he felt the need to express his musical ideas more freely, a new child was
born: Great Empty Circle, his very own imprint started in 2015, reserved exclusively for his tunes, also under Bhikkhu and Marvin Gain aliases.

Both a conscious explorer of the inner and outer worlds, Funk E toured all over the world from here to there, passing the Ecuator line several times, keeping his crowds into the present yet projecting their dreams into his electronic imaginary world.

With slavic roots in both sound and blood, Valeria Croft moved to Helsinki back in 2012 and has since continued spreading her groove filled gospel through not only her DJ sets around Europe, but also her own productions from the studio.
