Born and raised in Rome, Luigi Tozzi is undoubtedly one of the most prolific and outstanding talents of his generation to come out of Italy. Slip into any record store worth its salt, or clubs from Tbilisi to Lisbon and you’ll find traces of his work there; his signature sound has sold its share of records true, but also deeply influenced the work of many of his contemporaries. His expansive compositions intimately tied to the space they’re heard in, circling in perfect arcs below the water’s surface, where sunlight becomes scarce and a connection with sound paramount. Reformulating not only dub. techno and ambient, but a trove of memories diving off the coast of Sicily’s neighbour Salina (and with the help of analog digital tools, VSTs and controllers during live performances), Tozzi has developed a mastery for hypnotic rhythms like nothing you’ve heard before. His close working relationship with Swedish output Hypnus, as well as Outis and Non-Series have pushed his aquatic sound to it’s absolute limit, creating a world of poignant textures that have given his genre the gift of new horizons. Here he visits the Podcast for an epic 128 minutes that delve into his abyssal world, haunting rumbles and immersive techno, a ghostly, shimmering live-set recorded at Bassiani.

Chiming in for Bassiani’s anniversary party on October 10th comes an exceptional talent from the Asturian coast and Architectural’s third appearance in the Podcast series. Since 2004, Juan Rico’s been holding the line as Reeko, a stand-in for blistering industrial rhythms, founder of Mental Disorder and founding partner of Spanish techno bastion PoleGroup. Come 2010, a new incarnation emerged under the stage name Architectural, a faceless and assumedly authorless variant of his that played on rich textures, cinematic tones and a heavier focus on the architecture of sound itself. In the studio he manipulates and records sounds in real time, allowing for a greater degree of spontaneity than working with standalone parts would otherwise permit. No longer incognito, Architectural offers a brand of ambient techno charged through with Jazz and references from the world of film that pulsates and slithers, crackles and shifts. From his earliest releases on his eponymous Architectural imprint, through Semantica, Non Series and others, his music has established itself as a touchstone for avant-garde techno centred on body and dancefloor, and his future’s sure to keep delivering more of his monolith beats. Bassiani Podcast 287 is a truly impressive addition to the series, a sweeping three-hour montage of gritty textures, modulated frequencies and punchy basslines recorded live at Bassiani.

the point is clear. since the so called ceasefire from 10th october about 350 palestinians were killed. hospitals are leveled or dysfunctional. aid deliveries still getting blocked by the besieger. gaza is in ruins. UN reports 69513 murdered & 170745 injured palestinians as of 20th november 2025.

any income of this release will go to The Sameer Project, an organization led by palestinians in exile, in particular to fund their medial campaign in north of gaza.

before it got set in motion
but once it starts sometimes
nothing works.

you talk before the
mouth opens,
you walk when the 
pavement hasn’t been
drawn yet, and you hear
the future instead of
usual memories.

playing music seems 
like a thing made out of
air pushed inside of
bizarre shapes made
of materials of no
plasticity but it’s much
more that that when other
things are moving and
time can’t stop for sound:
too much information has
crowded a space where
thoughts barely exist,
self-reflected into
an oblivious abstraction.

else won’t ever be wired
to yours - so beware
of spreading the loops
that may bind one
forever.

the snooker player
once looked at
a birch tree in front
of his house and it
had lost a branch,
and then he never

when in life, texture
is everything.

he prayed one day and nothing
happened until he became afraid
of stopping his descent, lest he 
look back at the time: where did
it all go? he prayed seventy days
and the tree disappeared and
then he saw it:
the road that was now wasn’t.

and he wondered: if things
were not in their place why
would green not be red and
a carpet not be glass and 
if symbols can just be
interchanged when one feels
like it, why bother caring for
one over the other.
and so he played.
