Extinct Mastodon & Rusted Tilapia Water no es un álbum cómodo ni pretende serlo. Es una obra grotesca, sarcástica y visceral que utiliza el exceso como lenguaje y la provocación como herramienta artística. Desde su portada apocalíptica hasta su sonido crudo, el disco se planta como un manifiesto contra la hipocresía, la decadencia cultural y la violencia simbólica del mundo moderno.

Musicalmente, el álbum bebe directamente de la era más salvaje del nu metal, rindiendo un tributo explícito a Limp Bizkit —especialmente a trabajos como Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$, Significant Other y Chocolate Starfish. Se perciben riffs secos y elásticos al estilo Wes Borland, grooves pesados con ADN hip-hop, baterías con swing agresivo y una presencia constante de scratches, glitches y cortes DJ que evocan la escuela de DJ Lethal.

La voz de Rafael Maurell alterna entre rap confrontacional, spoken word cargado de sarcasmo y momentos melódicos introspectivos, siguiendo la tradición de Fred Durst pero con una identidad propia: menos fiesta, más crítica; menos ironía superficial, más veneno consciente.
