VOODOO + DRAMA nasce dal bisogno di una riconnessione umana nei confronti di ciò che è primordiale ed essenziale. Un invito al ritorno ad una società tribale e paritaria, che ha preso coscienza della frenesia odierna che ci ammala, del marciume del consumismo e del maschilismo, della falsità dei media e dei social networks, dei disagi fisici e psicologici che tutto ciò comporta e che, incessantemente, si riversano nelle nostre vite, sgretolandole silenziosamente poco a poco.

La collaborazione tra me Opposit e Maurice Noah rappresenta  un riconoscimento reciproco di gusti musicali e affinità per i temi trattati. Il ritmo frenetico del beat e i synth allarmanti, quasi a richiamare delle sirene apocalittiche, vogliono ricreare un atmosfera nostalgica per i rave degli anni 2000, e a sua volta risvegliare quella fratellanza utopica e scontata che si creava tra le persone, che sembrava quasi una preghiera collettiva che ci univa tutti e tutte, in un avamposto alla fine del mondo

Skinwalker's lyrics and video are inspired by science fiction novel "Who Goes There?" by John W. Campbell, that was already adapted for the screen by Christian Nyby/Howard Hawks ("The Thing from Another World") and John Carpenter ("The Thing").
The original story sees a group of scientists who are forced to defend themselves against a malevolent shape-shifting creature. But what if the creature had not been originally malevolent? What if it was a "very social being", simply confused by a different biology, or even facing a crisis, during its own process of inner growth?
"The theme of metamorphosis always fascinated me. I see it as a central theme in the lives of all human beings, even though it lays under, mostly unconscious, so that it often needs mythological narrative to be decoded.
We try and experience the pleasure of being someone else all the time. Everytime we read a book, we watch a tv show or a movie, or we daydream about our champions, we become these characters, we identify ourselves in them.
Perhaps there is something in the stories of other people,
like a way out
- a kind of peace. "
