Unfortunately, a live recording on the night itself was not possible. As a memento to this absolutely incredible night, this upload is a live recording (from memory and at the same tempo) of the set that I played, recorded from my home studio on the evening of Sunday 15th December.

ZoukOut is an annual dance music festival held in Singapore since 2000. One of Asia's biggest music dance festivals, it is organised by Zouk (club) Singapore. DJs that have performed at ZoukOut include Paul Van Dyk, 2ManyDJS, Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Peter Kruder, James Lavelle, Armin Van Buuren and Stereo MCs. In 2013, ZoukOut attracted its largest audience ever, and was attended by 41,000 people.

Live recording of my warm-up set (9.45pm - 11.15pm, Saturday 11 January) for the charity edition of “Refuge”, the bi-monthly party at The Vault (Singapore), in aid of EmancipAsia and Lotus Culture, two Singapore-based not for profit organisations whose mission is to combat illegal human trafficking with a focus on the Asia-Pacific Region.

Human trafficking is a crime against humanity and the UN reports that 25 million people are trafficked globally each year for a multitude of purposes including sexual exploitation, domestic servitude and for forced and exploitative labour. This is modern-day slavery and it is happening everywhere around us.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to party and support the causes -- a fantastic total of $4365 in donations was raised during the evening!

Live At Canvas - Saturday 25 October 2014

Live recording of my countdown NYE set at Blu Jaz Café last night, complete with some dope MC work on the mic by Eric Foenander! As much as I will always love House music, I am grateful for the folks at Good Times for allowing me the freedom to express myself differently in my DJ sets for them. That openness is so refreshing and invigorating. And so, you will hear virtually no House music in this set, just a blend of different pieces of music that make me smile and dance. This was a truly happy and positivity charged evening, one that I will never forget. I hope you enjoy the music (my set starts 3 minutes in to the file). Thank you everyone who came and danced, and for your energy and love. The flow of this set was completely determined by you.

Born in Singapore to a family of musicians and lovers of jazz and classical music, from a young age Maurice developed a curiosity for musical forms that stir the senses and tell a story. His time spent in London as a promoter for Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly Records kick-started his journey as a DJ more than 10 years ago. 

Over the years Maurice has quietly established himself in Singapore's underground music scene and around South-East Asia through his very own Re:fuge club nights in Singapore, festival appearances at Epizode (Vietnam), Wonderfruit and Karma Kastle (Thailand) and performances alongside some of the world's leading House & Techno names including Dixon, Mano Le Tough, Kristian Beyer (Âme), Roman Flügel, Ata, Marcus Worgull, The Drifter, Fort Romeau, Aera, Matthias Schöber, Love Over Entropy and &ME. 

Armed with a sound that marries deep and melodic house with tough and moody techno, Maurice is a believer that electronic music is an open platform, without limits on who or what it may connect to. His openness to perform DJ sets that embrace diversity across musical styles with house & techno as the connector, is what drives his constant devotion to the craft of DJing today and into the future.
