UK ‘new age soundsystem’ duo, Star.One, present ‘Okay’ (featuring Maleek Berry & Seyi Shay) their debut single for 3 Beat, the label home of Sigma, High Contrast, Stylo G, and more.
 The hybrid nature of British music in 2017 owes a lot to the ‘DIY’ nature and creativity of a newly thriving soundsystem culture in the UK. Right at the vanguard of this nascent resurgence are Star.One, championed by MistaJam, Target, 1Xtra, Noisey, Huw Stephens, Pigeons & Planes, Fact, Phil Taggart, and beyond. Brothers Joe and Adam describe themselves as a ‘new age soundsystem’, whereby the music they make, and the parties they throw, blur the lines between UK garage, grime, and bass music, while taking influences from the past 50 years of British black music. Okay is a great example of this, merging old skool UK Garage production with the Nigerian stylings of Afrobeat stars Maleek Berry and Seyi Shay.

-How long have you been creating music?

I have been creating music for about 7/8 years.

-What do you use to make your tracks?

I use a variety of things. I use Ableton live as a DAW; pots, pans, dog barks, and some synths for noises.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

I remember Dirtybird in its infancy. I bought this record because of the dudes name and title of the record. Claude Von Stroke - Deep Throat. LOL  I thought it was dope.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

This is a tough question, I like the idea of making music with other people. I have also learned that you can just admire an artist without having to work with them. With that said, Justin Jay , to me is an amazing producer. I wouldn’t mind doing a record with him.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

A Stir of Echos

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

2006 Coachella

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

I have been in this situation before; so, the 80’s, Los Angeles, in my mature form so i can go party. =)

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Cassowary. Because of the low wobbs like rumblies.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Hmmm… Dirtybird is that start of something new for me. A long, bass heavy prosperous, journey.
