A few months ago, we launched a remix contest for Franz Matthews’ track ‘Zero Gravity’ on Label Radar, and the response was nothing short of phenomenal. With over 30 submissions pouring in from around the world, several remixes were really standing out, making it hard to pick a winner. While we crowned Rezonite as the official winner -featured on our last release- , we couldn’t ignore and not support the outstanding talent and hard work of four runner-ups. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the brilliant reinterpretations of Elemental, Nikmind, Peter P, and You Liang to HIFI/LOFI!

Originally from Mexico City and now based in Playa del Carmen, Emiliano Perez (aka Peter P) is a staple at the iconic Electrica and Danza Futurista parties. With just 3 years of production experience, he kicks off the remix package with an electrifying Indie Dance belter, packed with playful synth escapades.

Hailing from Tokyo, You Liang, transforms ‘Zero Gravity’ into an irresistibly groovy Tech-House weapon. With a background in acapella as a tenor, they developed a sharp ear for harmony and structure, seamlessly transitioning into DJing and electronic music production. Their unique style blends genres fluidly, earning them sets in major clubs across Japan and Korea.

A veteran of the Washington DC Electronic scene, Elemental has been spinning house, progressive, and breaks since the late '90s. After a hiatus, he reignited his passion during the pandemic, transitioning into production, and here channeling his diverse influences into a remix that takes ‘Zero Gravity’ on a hypnotic journey through Progressive Trance, Acid House and Indie Dance.

Closing the EP with a deep, rolling, and hypnotic take, Nikmind brings his signature darker and progressive sound to the release. Born in Colombia and now based in the U.S., he already boasts an impressive catalog on labels like ICONYC Noir, Frequent, and Side Up Works. He also holds the title of Best DJ of the Year (2018) at STORYLAND Music Festival, and rounds up this EP gracefully with his thrilling reinterpretation.
