The year is 1923 and Private Investigator , Detective Agent M. is roaming the streets of New York in her fedora, mac and devil red lipstick. She's the brains behind the New York police force and is out to see what danger is lurking. She's mysterious and opts for the more dangerous "Night Shift". She always works alone and will stop at nothing to put New York's most violent criminals behind bars. In her spare time she likes spinning classes and crosswords.

"Meet me by the fountain" she hears him whisper. Opening her eyes she looks down at the once crisp , uncreased piece of paper. Scrawled in faded ink is that very whisper "Meet me by the fountain" There she sits and waits  in hope that her lover will return. 
  Her trips to the fountain take longer now. There she sits, staring at her aged refection in the clear water of the fountain still waiting ,after all these  years, for her soldier love to return.

I have always wanted to fall down a rabbit hole Alice and Wonderland style! No interest in Wonderland itself just the long peaceful fall between reality and a dreamland! This is how my journey to paradise would sound!!! ( I think)

They have become a part of him. He doesn't leave the house they once shared without them. Everyday , before he leaves for work, he checks his pocket to ensure they're there. Her scented letters. The love notes she wrote him many years ago. He reads them so he can hear her voice. The paper, the paper carries her sweet scent that only makes reading them all the more painful. Her words echo such sweetness and purity. And every day while sitting at his desk, alone,  he recites her letters and agonises over  why he ever let her go.
