Absolute classic recording from LTJ Bukem's Kiss 100 show back in the nineties, spinning some of the best drum and bass music ever made from the legendary PFM for probably the first time on the radio.  My favourite DJ playing my favourite producer's music doesn't come much better than this!

It is time for another week and that means that another PHW release is in the pipeline. This week we are thrilled to welcome more new artists who is joining our label. On original duty we see a new entrance from the talented producer Cris Peacock who joins us with his production, “New Moon”. 

This production is an awesome one, built through deeper textures with spiced up melodies and warm synths working this to the beauty it is. It’s full of sparkling life and we fell for it at the first listen.

On remix duty we welcome 2 new names to the family that we are proud to involve. First out is the US bound producer, Kono (USA) that you will see a bit on our roster. This first work with us is a superb piece. With added on chopped vocals, additional melodies and a new groove built to complement the original ideas, he builds his interpretation and we are excited for it as it is right down our alley. 

The 2nd rework of the original comes from the Italian veteran I-Vision who now joins us on PHW with an excellent retro filled production. As always his true talent and 80’s feel shines through, just as we wanted. It’s as good as ever from him and we are thrilled to showcase him through our roster.

Following his recent "10 After 10 / Catalunia" EP on our label, Israeli producer Shai T is back with a new 2-track release.

"Time Zone" takes off with a calm rhyhtm and frisky percussion elements. Soon thereafter, highly captivating bassline notes emerge, and throughout the track, numerous mesmerizing synth stabs and melodies are added for extra texture. A lighter atmosphere is introduced in "The System", which takes off with a lush groove and unique melody work. As the song progresses, the soundscape is enhanced with a multitude of enjoyable sound effects and delicacies.

SCI023 – Techmosphere .02 LP - Out June 30th, 2017

The 23rd release on Scientific is the second part of the Techmosphere series. To give you some idea of what to expect, the term “techmospherics” was used by ASC to describe the sound he was pushing back in the days of the infamous Covert Operations label. It’s all about the classic sound of the more techy side of atmospheric drum & bass, and the series aims to expose the present take on this legendary style.

The album will take you on an exciting journey through a very rich palette of various hues of atmospheric drum & bass. This astral ride will come with a range of attractions, including Bungle’s dreamlike breakbeat-oriented “Forgiven”, Future Engineers’ powerful rolling remix of Mav’s “Northern Lights”, Deskai’s quick-paced and underwater-like “Earth”, or Parhelia’s “Is this a Hologram” packed with strong percussion programming, deep bassline and fairy-tale background features. 

You will also come across some lighter accents here and there, featured in the form of Eugenics Eight’s subtle roller entitled “Flowers”, Seathasky’s vocal and guitar sample driven “Clarity”, or Thesis’ relaxing “Renaissance”.

“Techmosphere .02” offers some exploration of the deeper and more experimental side of the techmospheric shade of d’n’b as well. Sit back and let yourself be taken for a smooth ride accompanied by Radicall’s deep, progressive “Darkroom”, or stimulate your mind listening to Operon’s slightly leftield-ish broken-structured “The Machine”, or two tracks paying an excellent tribute to the atmo-jungle era: “Love and the Devil” by Fushara and “Gyroscope” by Entama.

All in all, the content of the album is a perfect treat for all those who have remained fond of the gentler, less dancefloor-oriented, but still exciting and energy-packed kind of drum & bass – one ideal for a longer car ride, but also for a way longer space travel.
