It’s been quite a while since Naibu’s last feature on Scientific. More than a year has passed since the release of his acclaimed “Case Study”, a mature and eclectic quasi-d’n’b album rich in live instrumentation and tons of intricate details. And here’s a follow-up to this work – a four-track remix EP featuring reworks by some of the biggest names in the atmospheric/deep drum & bass current of today. Naibu’s already captivating take on music gets reinterpreted in four different ways, so just know that you’ll be treated with a sense of freshness and familiarity at the same time. Spanning a variety of shades of drum & bass, from Hiddenwave’s deep and rolling take on “Turn Me Down”, through Seba’s nostalgic rework of “Astray” and Bungle’s powerful, cosmic rearrangement of “Case Study”, to Future Engineers’ heavyweight, solid-basslined reinvention of “Fighting for Attention”, the EP acts as an excellent supplement to Naibu’s original work, offering listeners even more of auditory pleasure.
