Anil K. Sood, M.D. is Professor and Director of the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program in the Departments of Gynecologic Oncology and Cancer Biology at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

He spoke with Sally Church, Ph.D. about his research just published in the New England Journal of Medicine that investigated the cause of the high platelet counts seen in some ovarian cancer patients, and the association this has with living for a shorter time period.
