Mavi Blue is a Syrian DJ and producer based in Gothenburg, Sweden, drawing deep inspiration from his Middle Eastern roots. Percussion is his specialty behind the decks, incorporating Arab influences into both traditional and contemporary dance music. By creating a unique fusion where East meets West, he has marked his name in the local Gothenburg scene.
With an official remix release, several self releases, and an upcoming EP under his belt, Mavi is now bringing his producer side to the forefront for this event. Expect a wild testing of unreleased tracks with a mix of Dabke, breaks, amapiano, chabbi, and more!

Dream Like

Taken from a longer sound piece I created for my friend Heba’s art exhibition, (Letters To The Sky) began with a voice recording she sent me of her brother Ahmad singing a Sufi chant. 
His voice, raw and full of feeling, becamej the soul of the composition, a mix of soft ambient washes, processed field recordings and subtle rhythmic pulses all drifting gently around his voice.

Created for Heba Alakkad’s exhibition Roots, this audio piece blends together a DJ set, sound design, and an original track I produced using a recording of her brother Ahmad performing a Sufi chant.

Designed as a sonic companion to the visual works, I’ve used a collection of sufi and spiritual vocal recordings from the Islamic world to create a dialogue with Heba’s themes such as heritage, migration, memory, and the future.

The exhibition opens this Wednesday, May 28 / 2025 at Blå Stället and runs until August 31.
The piece is meant to be experienced in the same space as the art but if you can’t make it, you can still listen to it on SoundCloud.
